155mm M142 Howitzer
Instructions:
AG1 to activate controls, AG2 to move weapon to transport position. VTOL to control gun elevation. Trim to control gun traverse.
Summary:
The M142 is a Paternian 155mm towed howitzer, and is the principal brigade-level fire support platform for most of the Paternian Army and Marine Corps. It can fire all NATO-standard 155mm shells, including cargo shells (with cluster bombs, leaflets, or shrapnel bullets), unitary shells, smoke bombs, illumination flares, and guided rounds such as the M982 Excalibur and the M712 Copperhead.
While the Paternian Army does employ large numbers of self-propelled guns, towed guns remain an integral component even in a modern, mechanized ground force. This is due to their superior strategic and operational mobility, some tactical advantages, and lower cost. This allows the Paternian Army to provide all combat brigades which do not require high mobility with a potent 155mm artillery system.
