B523 - Deacon

Auto Credit Based on BowtheAvali's b523-Shepherd

History

The Deacon is based off the B523 - Shepherd. Towards the end of WWII, the British were looking for a self-propelled gun tank capable of mounting a large 175mm gun. They turned to the Shepherd. It had just the right amount of space - much larger than the Bishop artillery tank, it was lightly armored but fast enough to outrun enemies, and it was in readily accessible numbers. However, the Deacon never saw service as the 175mm gun was considered overkill by the top brass in the military and military finance sectors (the reason was that building a whole slew of new unneeded artillery converted tanks was rather expensive) as the war had already ended and the 150-155mm guns already existing were capable of doing any postwar jobs required.

Controls

WASD or the mobile equivalent for movement
VTOL for gun elevation
Fireweapon is an obvious control perimeter

Quirks:

I attempted (with the help of Pioneer) to mount a system of FT that would move the gun down after firing but it didn't work out. Lets just pretend in the half second the gun stays down, the loader can reload it ;).

As this was a somewhat rush job, I forgot that the cockpit was left on the gun. So, be prepared for nausea. lol.

Thanks!

@BowtheAvali Thank you! I hope u have fun playing it. As a note, the gun can hit targets 16 kilometers away and has an elevation of 85 degrees.

P.S. I assume most of the detail u liked was the gun, shells, and propellent racks?

I absolutely love this, it's not a blatant ripoff of mine, it adds something amazing to the build while not being so different that it completely misses the point of the original build, and it's has really really good detail to match the original 11/10

@stevemc01 lol. but actually this is fake tonk. and considering the war was over, it was a little overkill

Considering the US had an idea for a 240mm-barrel SPG (The T92 HMC), the British had no right to call it overkill.
