Rainier X-52 Mach Breaker
X-52 Mach Breaker
No Mods Version
The X-52 "Mach Breaker" is a pure-bred experimental/research aircraft, set on breaking the world record as the fastest piston-engine aircraft ever made. It is powered by x1 highly modified Packard V12 Merlin with quad-turbos that drives 4 counter-rotating prop-fans in rear tail-pipe/air duct of the aircraft. Large air inlets mounted on the side of the aircraft, which are split from the fuselage for super-sonic/boundary layer air flow purposes, feed the 4 prop fans, which the prop-fans cut into that airstream, compress it, and thrust it out the back of the duct to provide thrust, much like a regular turbine jet engine. The X-52 is NOT intended for serial production -certified or experimental/amateur construction- and only 3 X-52's will be constructed.
The 1st X-52, the one shown in this upload, will set the record and has no paint; just the bare composite/carbon-fiber construction with Rainier logo decals (to save on weight); while the 2nd X-52 will be severely nerfed in engine power and modified overall to potentially race in Unlimited Class at the Reno Air Races. Lastly, the 3rd X-52 will be just X-52 #1; a research aircraft, except #3 will sport a slightly different cockpit and a black paint job.

@45678
The large high-bypass turbofan and turboprop engines in SP are the only engines in the game that give off a whistle or whine that kind of sounds like the whole thing could be turbocharged.
@45678
The only reason that exists is so it gives the plane a bit of a turbo sound since its supposed to have 4 turbos feeding the V12.
Nice plane though
(Says it’s powered by a piston engine) looks inside; finds jet engine...
@JED
Oh nice.
Yeah, I’m thinking of making a new plane soon so you can look forward to that @JohnnyBoythePilot
