N-8 Super STOL (Cockpit)

The N-8 Super STOL

This plane was made by me, but I had advice help.

The Plane...

This plane is called the N-8 Super STOL, and if you didn’t know that by now, your pretty stupid. Moving on, this plane is made for most if not all rough conditions. The only thing this plane can not over come is wind, as the planes top speed is around 130, and the wind can go 200, so there’s a 70 MPH difference! The plane also has a lot of drag, and likes to fall like a rock, the flaps ‘help’ but are mainly for taking off.

Controls

Ag-1 = Gyro
Ag-2 = Nav/Cockpit Lights
VTOL = Flaps
Trim = Trim
Gear = Nothing

Extra Info About The Build

This is my second STOL build attempt, and I would say this is a success! This is my most detailed plane, and one of my few planes to have a cockpit that works!

!Pilots Note!

As said before, the plane falls like a rock, so watch the airspeed! The plane has flaps, use them. Don’t forget if you use the AP and trim you can get a level flight.

    Ah yes I remember now. Well it looks like I have a little feedback after the fact but still, I’m sorry I missed the chance while you were building :/

    Good aircraft! I would like to say, you should add some suspension to the wheels next time. It is very stiff, and when i touch down, it like to unrealistically bounce, like a toy. (I guess my aircraft are like that too but shh)

    Yup, don’t be surprised if SP is like 25 people still active when you come back @Hyattorama

    I’ll be happy to help when I’m back, and in the meantime, you might think of asking @Chancey21 for help, he is much more experienced than I am, and he’s helped me a ton on a lot of builds, so I’m guessing he might be willing to help :) @ACEPILOT109

    Haha for sure man. Although, unfortunately, I won’t be able to help too much; in 7 days I’m leaving on a trip for about three months, and I won’t have any access to Internet. But I’ll be looking forward to getting back to SP afterwards :) @ACEPILOT109

    Yay! Thanks man, I’m supper exited about this new style of building, and I will definitely be crawling to you for some help. Thanks for all the advice, and I’m not sure I will be building another STOL for like a month (mabye sooner). But I’ll come back after making some other random stuff! These types of planes are to complicated for my brain :D

    Oops I forgot to upvote earlier haha sorry. Looks like you did a lot better than your expected number of upvotes, that’s awesome! Just about the same number of upvotes as my last STOL plane, so you’re obviously doing something right :)

    Oh ok haha. Well maybe for your next STOL build? It’s still a great plane. Also, if you want, I can help. At least with the pistons, just let me know :) @ACEPILOT109

    Thanks man! I did try to do that but I lost hope and just gave up. The xml is somthing I cant do because of iOS. @Hyattorama

    Always put the stall speed in the description, also listen to Hyattorama. He’s right

    Also, just looking at the plane, proportionally, I’d say the primary wings should be longer and wider to fit with the length and size of the fuselage, and the size of the stabilizers. So it might be convenient for you to just increase the size of the primary wings and maybe not have to worry about xml editing at all. Like I said, the plane flies great. But for STOL, it would help to get the stall speed down some. Ideally, like 40-45 mph... it’s tricky but you can do it! Haha

    Nice man, I like it! It flies really well. A couple things: for a STOL plane it would be good if the take off/stall speeds were lower. You can accomplish this by increasing the size of the primary wings (to decrease wing loading), or by reducing the weight of the plane with xml editing, or by moving the CoL forward so it’s pretty much directly above CoM (can be achieved by increasing primary wing size, and also potentially decreasing size of stabilizers. You have to dial it in to get the balance right). Or some combination of all of these things. And one more thing; the two pistons that actuate the throttle and mixture controls break under heavy G. You can fix that in Overload by making them unbreakable.
