A-24 Razorback
Nation of Origin: Iosia
Role: Attack Aircraft
First Flight: 15th June 1975
Introduction: 2nd March 1979
Status: In service
Number Built: 830
In the mid 1970's during the Nordenvok/Hon Kain Crisis a project was proposed to develop a Low speed, Low altitude, heavily armed attack aircraft to supplement Iosia's current fleet of CAA-15 Firerod attack craft, out of nearly Twenty contending companies and aircraft, the YA-24 Razorback was awarded the title of Nordenvoks Primary Attack craft and one of the first aircraft developed by a foreign nation to be used as a primary aircraft, the YA-24, now designated as the A-4 features a lower profile than the Firerod with its single engine that is built into the aircraft with air intakes placed on the top of the attacker to prevent debris from entering the engine during low level flights. The Razorback also boasts a strong arsenal of Air-to-Ground weaponry that is about equal to the Firerod.
The A-24 Razorback borrows a similar body frame of that of the Firerod to house the GAU-8 avenger autocannon used for anti-tank purposes, the GAU-8 is capable of firing up to 3,900 rpm with accuracy of up to 85%. The GAU-8 autocannon accounts for roughly 23% of the aircraft's total weight, so much so when the cannon is removed, a jack is required to be placed on the back of the Razorback to prevent the aircraft from tipping backwards.
The cockpit and parts of the flight-control system are protected by 1,450 lb of titanium aircraft armor,The armor has been tested to withstand strikes from 23 mm cannon fire and some strikes from 57 mm rounds. It is made up of titanium plates with thicknesses from 0.5 to 1.5 inches (13 to 38 mm) determined by a study of likely trajectories and deflection angles. The armor makes up almost six percent of the aircraft's empty weight. Any interior surface of the tub directly exposed to the pilot is covered by a multi-layer nylon spall shield to protect against shell fragmentation. The front windscreen and canopy are resistant to small arms fire.

@ThomasRoderick It is a single engine build into the fusalage.
How many engines does this craft have? Looks like a single-engine jet to me...
