DAVI Tebaki
INTRODUCTION
The DAVI Tebaki is a long service, subsonic close air support platform developed Jointly between several Winolian companies under DAVI. Developed as part of the 70s defender programme, it was envisioned as a jet power aircraft with the capacity to provide a range of battle critical capabilities such as aerial artillery, close air support and anti-tank. Subsequent upgrades turned it into a multirole strike platform capable of conducting aerial observation and FAC, and maritime interdiction.
The name Tebaki is a simplified version of the Amharic word T’ebak’i which loosely translates to Potector. These aircraft saw extesive use in low intensity interventions where their ability to operate in contested airspace and absorb damage made them ideal for supporting special forces behind enemy lines. Future upgrade gave the platform the capability to perform support activitites at standoff ranges
