PzKpfw II Ausf. J
History
The PzKpfw II J, or the Panzer II Ausf. J, was an experimental variant of the Panzer II designed in 1942.
Originally designed as a reconnaissance tank, minor changes led it to become a small break through tank.
Its most notable features were its unusual track design, and gun placement.
Under the experimental designation of VK1601, heavier armor was added, bringing protection up to 80 mm on the front and 50 mm to the sides and rear, with 25 mm roof and floor plates, increasing total weight to 18 tons.
The PzKpfw II J had the inadequate Maybach HL45P engine that could only propel the vehicle to 19 mph(31kmh), and had a primary armament of a 2 cm KwK38 L/55 gun, along with a secondary machine gun.
Over its production span, 22 were produced, and 7 were issued to the 7th Panzer Division on the Eastern Front.
My Replica
I tried, and I think it looks really good! The turret might not be the most accurate shapes, but Germany makes their turrets the hardest shapes like ever. Its one of my best tanks yet and it performs really well too. Its designed to be low part, yet look good! So if you want to...idk have a billion of these things rolling around and make a WW2 movie out of it, go ahead!
