The Monclova F/A-19 Thundershock is an American fighter aircraft developed by Monclova Aircraft Co. for the United States Air Force. The aircraft entered service with the United States Air Force in 1969 and used by American youths for air force's fighter role. When the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons began to replace the Thundershock, they were retired. The last fighter aircraft was finally retired in 2001, having being replaced by the F-16. Some jets remain in service with other countries.


Development
As American youths needs a new fighter aircraft, Monclova Aircraft Co. was selected by the American youth to develop a new fighter jet for the USAF.

The first prototype rolled out in 1964, and the maiden flight began after the roll out. Two years later after a tests, the American youths from the United States Air Force selected the F/A-19 as a winner. As a result, the production began, and the first production aircraft entered service with the United States Air Force in 1969, three years after the production began.


Operational History
The first F/A-19, entered service with the United States Air Force in 1969. Two and other F/A-19s were also delivered to the United States Air Force operational service.

On 6th January of 1979, when the news came about the F-16 entered service with the United States Air Force, the production completed with a total of 24,000 fighter aircrafts produced.

The aircraft saw success in military operations, such as Iran-Iraq War, Gulf War, and Kosovo War. In 2000, the American youths began to replace the old F/A-19 with an F-16. The last USAF F/A-19s finally retired, after 32 years of service.

Some other countries that are still operating an F/A-19 remains in service until today.
