Sikorsky S-16 (RBVZ S-XVI)
Special thanks to @AXEPOH for reworking the flight mechanics and performance of this aircraft (and letting me update the XML of this aircraft with their modifications)
My first airborne vehicle from scratch (not including the tutorial plane)
So I went around the site for a bit only to find 3 other Sikorsky S-16s with the newest one made 3.1 years ago, all of which look like something out of Minecraft (no offense to the original authors of those posts considering fuselages weren't all that advanced yet) and then decided to make my own version of the S-16. I also managed to build this in 4-5 days so it's not as detailed as I wanted it to be.
This aircraft was built on reference images, a crappy blueprint, and more screenshots/pictures from the game "Rise Of Flight: United"
A little history:
The Sikorsky S-16 was designed almost solely as a fighter escort to protect the Sikorsky S-22 "Ilya Muromets" while on bombing missions. The Sikorsky S-16 was a rather agile aircraft for what it was despite the relatively underpowered engines they were often fitted with that had a power-to-weight ratio of 0.14 hp/kg and a top speed of 120 km/h (only 10 km/h faster than the Ilya Muromets). More on Wikipedia
Armament:
- Vickers 7.7mm Machine Gun
- The knowledge of aerial ramming (for historical accuracy, although the plane will probably freak out)
Features:
- Despite having default health for all parts of the plane (except for the glass windshield which I strengthened), it can crash but stay in a pretty decent shape, so you can use this plane in aerial ramming tactics with the only part really being damaged is the propeller (formerly a feature, this was before AXEPOH's rework, you might get lucky though).
- Literally only one gauge for partial historical accuracy (the Sikorsky S-16 in "Rise Of Flight: United" has only a singular gauge measuring RPM, I decided to be nice and made the one gauge on my aircraft to be IAS so you know whether or not you'll stall).
- Hopefully VR compatible.
- Reversed Yaw pedals because historical accuracy.
- Working gunsight (use it).
- Kinda 1:1.
- Kinda blueprint accurate.
- Vickers 7.7m Machine gun also built on blueprints and kinda 1:1 scale (aircraft mounted version based off of the Vickers seen on the Sikorsky S-16 in "Rise Of Flight: United").
- Accurate top speed and (almost) accurate weight.
- Variables and other FT sorcery (thanks to @AXEPOH for that).
Controls (not in-game anymore):
- Normal aircraft controls
Known problems
- The plane for some reason can have its physics suddenly crap itself and then do multiple backflips and spin at extremely high speeds.
- Doesn't like to land correctly.
XML Updates/changelog:
Update 1: Aligned a cable underneath one of the wings.
Update 2: Same as the previous update, aligned another cable.
Update 3: Performance update (special thanks to @AXEPOH for completely reworking the flight mechanics of this aircraft).

I know in the specifications it says a different horse power to weight ratio but that's probably different units so shush.
@Tookan NO Ye must get LOVE!
@ALTMTR
Thanks for the 9 notifications and stuff, but you gotta chill out, like, gah damn.
neat!
We expected SU-57s.
