Avro Lancaster w/ Tallboy
Quick demo - https://youtu.be/b9XDr9DBGB4
Features a Mk14 Holographic bombsight that calculates angle and trim based on your height, this Lancaster variant had all but the rear turrets removed. Drops a single 22,000 lb 'Tallboy' bomb, a behemoth of a bomb which hits targets at about 700mph when dropped from twenty thousand feet. Famously used to sink the Tirpez battleship, as well as numerous attacks destroying specialised targets such as U-boat bunkers and V1 launch sites.
P I L O T S N O T E S
CAM1 - Bomb follow
CAM2 - Bombsight
ACT1 VTOL DOWN - Flaps
ACT2 - Autopilot For Stable Bombing Runs
ACT3 - Lean back/forward
ACT4 TRIM - Bombsight Angle Computer
Fireweapons - Give em hell
Follow these steps correctly and you will hit anything.
Bombsight (cam2) requires you to choose your desired bombing altitude, ranging between 10,000 ft up to 20,000 ft.
ACT3 toggle lets you lean back in your seat.
Let's say you wanted to bomb at 15,000 ft. First, takeoff and gain altitude so that you are roughly at 15,000. You must switch on autopilot with ACT2, this helps stabilise your bombing run. Using ACT4 TRIM, adjust the numbered dial on the right down until the arrow is aligned to 15. When you reach maximum speed, the bomber should level off perfectly maintaining 15,000 assuming autopilot is on.
Correct your aim using light taps of roll left or right. Fireweapons to drop bombs.
If you are flying absolutely level at 15,000 ft, with the bombsight scoped in correctly, you should be able to easily hit whatever you want. Enjoy!

You could make a p35
Can you make more planes
@Nuclearbomber36 Check the weight. The Tallboy was 12,000 pounds. Grand Slam was 22,000.
That’s a grand slam
And now, now I see how much better your Tallboy Lancaster is than my Grand Slam one!
tablet crashes
...damnit. Very fine looking build though!
@Mookr no! I had this thing for Deviant Art..... I just decided to make it my profile pic (My YT profile is an MC-30 capital ship deleter)
@JediWolf Did you get that ion cannon profile pic just so you could beat my profile?
Would be nice to have updated old planes. Although understandeable.
@Scottydoestuff i'm done, i'll be back if there's a simpleplanes 2
So @weaverfish what’s the next project, or are you finished with the series?
This is one of my favourite planes in this game, without a doubt!
The bomb sight is amazing
@Mookr yeah but nowadays we call it the torpitz in WoWs XD btw love that ISD profile pic!
Could you make a Fw-200 condor?
Um the 22,000lb bomb was the grand slam I think. Tallboy is around 16,000lb I think.
You should make a version with a bunch of 500 pound bombs
What I love the most about your creations is how simple looking you keep them, the minimal detail on your builds is what I feel makes them really unique, it shows that you don't have to go overkill with details to get upvotes.
@Ironbert55 no it is the Tirpitz.
That Tirpitz you yank
You make such amazing aircraft, I can't wait to see what the next one is!
(I hope its Russian like a LAGG or Petalyakov or even another Yak!)
Fire weapons = Give em hell , I like that.
@Weaverfish some qeustions: is the bomb realy a tallboy or a grand slam (they look similar but the grand slam is bigger) also you wrote the name of the ship wrong (tirpez instead of tirpiz). but besides this it looks great.
@Weaverfish Can you make a bombsight attachment?
@RailfanEthan hot beans !
What’s next on the list boss?
Sweet!
