MCS Horn is the fifth ship of Broad class of mine countermeasure vessels. It is the tenth mine countermeasure vessel operated by M.Corp navy.

Overview:

MCS Horn is a modern, all-composite mine countermeasure vessel designed for operations in open water, as well as close to shore. It is equipped for finding and eliminating mines (minehunting), but also for eliminating large numbers of obsolete mines via towed cable (sweeping).

Equipment of MCS horn consists of a powerful 360° high definition sonar capable of detecting a football-size target at up to 12km, two different ROWs (Remotely operated vehicles) for eliminating mines, one RHIB (Rigid-hull inflatable boat), and two winches, one with ROW control cable and one with a steel line for sweeping. Sweeping line also pairs as a towing line, allowing MCS Horn to be used as a tugboat.

Hulls of ships of Broad class are made out of carbon-reinforced fiberglass in order to hide from magnetically-detonated mines. It is powered by two gas turbines generating electricity for two podded electric motors, supplemented with bow thrusters to allow perfectly precise maneuvering even in adverse condition.

Armament present on MCS Horn consists of a single 40mm autocannon, stern-mounted 23mm autocannon and two 12.7mm machine guns on the upper deck. It can be supplemented by a number of 7.62mm machine guns and MANPADS for air defence.

Features:

  • Bridge interior;
  • Realistic performance (slightly increased max speed, realistic acceleration);
  • Details-o-plenty;
  • Top quality paneling;
  • Realistic design.

Notes:

  • I have decided to post without a designer background for a change.

Controls:

  • Throttle = Throttle;
  • Trim = Turning (rotates azipods 180°)
  • Yaw = Bow thrusters;
  • Pitch + Roll = Main gun.
  • Ag1 = Hidden engine that allow the ship to go around 200km/h for getting to places without boring 2h sailing.

Enjoy.

    @GeneralOliverVonBismarck good. Can't wait to see it then.

    @GeneralOliverVonBismarck I hope there are more changes to it than control inputs. Otherwise, according to rules, I'll be forced to remove it. Make sure it's a successor, and that it offers visible improvement/difference to original.

    @GeneralOliverVonBismarck remind me in ten to twelve hours please. I'm busy, and I'm going to bed once I'm done.

    @Kimcotupan15 not as much. If you use calculateDrag = "False", drag is not calculated for that part, reducing processing power needed to run s build.

    @EternalDarkness so it doesn't lag if I disabled drag points?

    @EternalDarkness but the back gun would be good to use

    @Hawkeye156 speed must be a bug. It never exceeded 49km/h during testing. And it's most certainly not made for speed, needing a few minutes to accelerate to 49km/h. As for functionality, it's a minesweeper. No mines = no functionality. I didn't want to bother with RCWSs you can't actually use on anything.

    @Hawkeye156 it's a fiberglass hull. You can't expect 2cm fiberglass hull to endure artillery fire.

    @EternalDarkness and the armour isnt very good as well

    @Kimcotupan15 it should lag like 800 part build due to drag being disabled on many parts. If you can run 800 parts, you can run this. I'm glad you like how it looks.

    @Spectre2520 many parts have drag disabled. That's one less calculation to compute per part. It reduces lad a lot.
