M.Corp "Long Aim" MTIR

Part of Steel Umbrella series, M.Corp integrated air/missile defence system.

Features a new XML option: zeroOnDeactivate = "True" on rotators (was known before, but I never saw anyone using it).

Features working leaf spring suspension on generator trailer.

M.Corp Long Aim MTIR (Mobile Tracking and Illumination Radar) is a long range radar mounted on a versatile 6x6 chassis, integrated into Steel Umbrella system. It provides tracking and illumination of targets at up to 1400km, and stealth targets at up to 650km.

Long Aim goes from march to active mode in under one minute, giving it a capability to quickly obtain a target provided by early warning radars. It is integrated into the Steel Umbrella network, and shares its data with launch stations and mobile SAM units in real time.

M.Corp MTIR system is equipped with a towed generator for prolonged operations. It gives the radar ability to remain operational without having the truck's engine working. It also comes with decoys that crew places around the radar in a 150m circle to distract anti-radiation missiles.

Long Aim is usually not in the same unit as command post or SAM launcher. It roams freely, and activates when needed. When active, it shares data with the entire Steel Umbrella network, providing targets for all SAMs within range.

Instructions:

  • Pitch and Roll to drive;
  • LandingGear/G to lower struts;
  • ActivationGroup1 to erect the radar;
  • VTOL and Trim to aim the radar.

Trivia:

  • I have rushed this build a little bit. The radar is a new development, quickly installed on an existing truck, which was adapted for the purpose.

  • You will see more of this truck, as I'll mount other things on it. Some versions are already made, awaiting descriptions to be written.

  • The first trailer this truck had was a simple SAM, but it was too ugly for upload. So, you can't shoot anything with this. Just watch. Like the real thing.

  • Wheel tilt will correct itself when the vehicle is on the ground. Suspension used is very simple, but gives good performance.

How to check out a new XML option:

Erect the radar and point it anywhere using VTOL and Trim. Then deactivate ActivationGroup1. The radar will return to the start position and lower into the march position.

Enjoy.

    @Strikefighter04 thanks. The hardest part of this build was figuring out that to do with lights so they don't look plain stupid.

    @EternalDarkness Thank you so much for receiving me!However,that way is negative,it seems that I can't reverse it throught changing the number of activation group,perhaps there is an add text needed behind the activation group in XML,if the system allows this operate.

    @VOSA it might be worth a shot assigning it to activation group "-1" via XML. I'm not sure if that would work, but that's the only idea that comes to my mind.

    What a marvelous project!!Excuse me,there is a problem that troubles me for a long time,is there any way that can reverse the control of activation group?
    For example ,usually when Group 1 activated,the rotater can rotate,on the contrary,the rotater can not rotate.
    What can I do to reverse it,when Group 1 de-activated,the rotater can rotate,Group 1 activated,the rotater can not rotate.Can it be realized by compile XML?Thank you very much!
