SeaSpider Mk3
Baron Von Baron III has been tinkering with his steampunk rocket again. In addition to general tweaks and improvements he has added a tail observation lounge to enjoy the scenic underwater views. Initially reluctant to arm a research vessel he decided to include mini guns and rockets for pirates and seamonsters and because the guns make a cool hyperspace effect when firing. To launch from water: Activate AG 1 and 2 and VTOL down until the rocket is fully vertical then VTOL center and give it full power. To launch from land: wait till rocket rolls to its side and settles. Then activate AG 1 only and VTOL down. Once the rocket raises itself to vertical launch position VTOL center and give it full power or the other way around. (looks cooler) To splash down: turn off engines and begin to fall. Activate AG 1 thru 4 and VTOL down. With all the fins deployed it will slow to around 175 without using the engines. Touchdown on dry land: Possible, but not recommended. Many configurations are possible: AG1 - extend engine booms and spider legs, AG2 - flip engines, AG3 - deploy rear fins and air brakes, AG4 - rotate spider legs.
