Asteroid Industries WL650
This is a complicated machine, bear with me.
Controls:
Act. 1 - door
Act. 2 - Engines
Act. 3 - Hydraulics
Act. 4 - Headlights
Act. 7 - Windshield wiper
Landing Gear - Parking Brake
Yaw - Lift/lower arm, proportional control
Trim - Open/close bucket, also proportional
Instructions for VR use:
- Start the engine by pressing the top right button (tan). This will activate group 2.
- Engage the Hydraulic systems by pressing the top right button (green). This will activate group 3.
- Disengage the parking brake by pressing the second right button (red). This will retract landing gear.
- You can use the second right button (black, round) to open the door (Act. 1), the third left button (black, rectangular) to turn on the headlights (Act. 4, and the third right button to turn on the windshield wiper (Act. 7).
- Control the loader by using the left joystick to drive and the right to operate the bucket and arm. Pitch and roll control driving, and Yaw and Trim control the arm and bucket respectively. Pull back on the right stick to raise the arm, push down to lower it. Push it right to open the bucket, push left to close.
Notes: All controls are proportional. Once you let go of the left stick, the vehicle will stop. While driving, you must let go of any forwards or backwards input before turning. When you lower the arm or close the bucket, there is some excess output due to the nature of the FT code I used, it can create some delays when trying to raise the arm or open the bucket again, you'll see what I mean.
Description:
The Asteroid Industries WL650 is a 1 and a half ton skid steer loader, WL meaning "Wheeled Loader". I definitely did not get the 650 from a Bobcat S650, nor did I base this heavily on one including use the blueprints for it. Like a real life Bobcat, this machine is rented out by United Rentals, a real company that rents not only skid steers but excavators, front loaders, graders, telehandlers and more. Since it's a skid steer that only weighs about 3,000lbs, it's very easy to flip with the bucket up, and on steep inclines even with the bucket mostly lowered. It is not a fast vehicle with a top speed of 7.1mph, but it's got a ton of power behind it. This was the first vehicle I've made with the intent to be more compatible with VR than with the actual game. Actuating the bucket is a bit easier using a VR joystick than it is using the in-game slider.

it is not a Ferrari. It's a skidsteer
What a Ferrari!!!🤣🤣🤣
@BananaFire109 It's not. The tracked version is also controlled with sticks. I know because I watched a bunch of videos of guys driving them
In real life this type of machine would be controlled with sliders like tracked skid loaders
@Bo1233 lol I hoped it would, I’ve never actually driven one I just watched a lot of videos
@ShootsPlanes what a bop
"Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I got to keep on moving"
As a professional bobcat man, I rate this a 10/10 drives like the real thing, feels like the real thing.
flippy thingy go brrrrrr
I gonna say slur on YOU
This is a YOKE (joke) for legal reasons
huehueheueheueheuehue
There are a lot of these things on the ranch near my neighborhood.
Wow, a bobcat !! very cool !
@PapaKernels oof lmao
@asteroidbook345 lol, yea. And i mean the ones we have are owned by the company, just that the dirt guys dont actually clean up after themselves. Often find empty bottles and stuff inside the machinery i clean 😂.
Hi Bob!
How is your day?
How do you feel about being a construction vehicle?
@CaptainSquadronLeaderX yeah lmao I thought I’d add a real logo
@asteroidbook345 I love the United Rentals Logo on the bootleg bobcat lol.
@PapaKernels you might have worked with a T700 or something, the tracked ones are a bit different. I do know though these things get really sketchy because really really underqualified people can just rent them and sometimes don’t bother cleaning up when the job is done
Nice! Different than the one i worked on, as it had tracks and the was on rails that went up into the cockpit but it looks nice! Definitely if you ever work on one or anything, make sure the bottom of the engine bay is free of dirt. I had to go sholder deep inside the engine compartment cleaning out dirt, damn dirt guys. (Sorry went on a tangent)
Beautiful
just wait until i convert this thing into a drag boi
fun to play
@asteroidbook345 uh oh bobby fischer ??? famos chest player?? bruh realy cmon :(((.
@Reworkable god damn it Bobby
