HISTORY
The F-100 Super Sabre is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft that was the first to break the sound barrier in level flight. The F-100 was the first in the Century Series of American jet fighters. It was developed from the F-86 Sabre, which was used in the Korean War. The F-100 was used extensively in the Vietnam War as a fighter-bomber, attacking bridges, road junctions, and troop concentrations. The F-100 was also adopted by various NATO countries. First flown in 1953.
