McDonnel Douglas MD-90
I scrapped up as much information as I could from my brain: The McDonnel Douglas DC-9 was such a success in the good ol' days. However, it wasn't enough. The airlines wanted a longer, better jet. Douglas responded with the McDonnel Douglas md-80. The series consisted of the longer md-81 and the md-82, the mid-size md-88, and the shorter md-87. The plane eventually proved to be not very fuel efficient, costing the airlines a lot of money. McDonnel Douglas had one last push with the md-90. The md-90 is longer, more fuell efficient, and holds more passengers. Unfortunately, the Boeing takeover halted md-90 construction. Although, Boeing now has the shorter 717, made in 1999, to replace the md-80 and md-90. Enjoy! =D PieGuy.
