The A-10 was built in 1977 and is still in use today it was designed in the United States and it’s mission is as a ground support to support troops it has been used in many combats including Iraq and a few other only 7 Warthogs have been shot down since 1977 it’s nicknames include “Warthog” and “hog” the pilots that fly the aircraft love it its a very survivable aircraft it’s main weapon is the GAU-8 avenger the Wart hog is used by Germany South Korea and United Kingdom also yet the main user is the United States Air Force

@Planebuilder2122 a few things one bruh I researched the plane for hours the gun is centered the gear is offset so check your research cause I spent hours researching it second you can put more then one thing in a comment no need to comment 7 times please just put it all in one comment

@Planebuilder2021 bruh it’s the other way around the landing no gear was part to the left so the gun could be centered and please research before saying things
Also, the A-10 thunderbolt2s gun was placed slightly too the left too make room for the landing gear and cockpit

@CarrotSlicingCat Well think of it like this, they use the bombs when they can use the bombs, but if the risk of collateral is too high (like friendly forces near the target, or a city/town/village you dont want to blow to hell) then they use the gun for precision. Something like a tank, and even some heavier trucks and other vehicles, that gun isnt going to do too much, so they use the missiles or bombs.
