Main description
The Mk.VII MBT NG-TD1 "Bizon" is one of the main MBT designs that were tested in a program, it lost to the Mk.VII MBT NG-V1 later on. The tank is now used in storage and as of now, it is now being repurposed as a technology demonstrator.
History
The Mk.VII MBT NG-TD1 was first developed in the early 2000s alongside the Mk.VII MBT NG-V1 in a design program. It used an oscillating turret with a 120mm cannon and had pretty advanced technology, such as a infared camera, and a mechanical shell loader to speed up reloading the 120MM cannon. After nearly a decade, the Mk.VII MBT NG-V1 would later end up winning instead, due to easier manufacturing, cheaper costs, and fitting more requirements and being practical. The manufacturer put the Mk.VII MBT NG-TD1 project to cancelation and it being repurposed to being a technology demonstrator by the manufacturer to moving on with other tank projects.
