H11 Sabre
The Sabre:
The H11 Sabre is one of the most iconic fighters ever designed, and its flamboyant looks speak loud and clear to its origins in the early jet age, when it wasn't quite clear what a fighter jet was supposed to look like.
Preliminary work began after the end of hostilities in 1947, but the project didn't really get off the ground until 1951. The testing period was long; one test pilot died in a crash from an initial tendency to turn upside down during final approach. Although the problem has been corrected, the aircraft's landing speed is still relatively high at over 260 kph. Because of this, the aircraft has an emergency parachute that can be used to slow down.
Six years of work resulted in a small, agile and fast fighter designed for air superiority. The large air intake in the "Belly" of the aircraft feeds the two Hyper Cabalero II engines. One of the most intriguing features was its inverted tricycle landing gear, reminiscent of the era of piston aircraft, a feature that would not be passed on by its successors. It had four hardpoints for fuel tanks, bombs and the newly invented automatic rockets of various types. Its main armament consisted of a machine gun mounted above the nose of the aircraft.
Although designed with air superiority in mind, it would eventually be used as a multi-purpose fighter. Being introduced into the Latin American Air Force in 1957, the Sabre would be involved in several conflicts, and 4 variants would be made before being withdrawn from frontline service in 1971.

From the Author:
Yes I'm still alive :v This is a very special fighter for me because it's the reimagining of my first fighter to be published years and years ago: Here if you want to see https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/fFRy0C/V11 -Saber-NMB
Maybe I'll start doing these "Rekames" so to speak, I'm finishing a submarine and after that I'll see what the next project will be. I'm making a video talking about my story creating this fighter since he's special to me
Note: If you noticed differences in the landing gear between some screenshots and the final model, it's because I had to make last minute changes to improve landing and taxing

@ThomasRoderick Yes you are completely right. It was an inspiration for the original fighter. I will explain this eventually with the video
