M125 Puma LAV
Background
The Puma is an all wheel drive Light Armoured Vehicle developed and produced by Voraus Enterprises. It was developed during the 1980s as a private venture. The baseline vehicle is armed with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun. Its modular design allows it to be fitted with a variety of weapon systems, including a 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 60mm Gun/Mortar system and an armored two-man 90mm or 105mm gun turret.
The vehicle is protected by high-hardness steel rated to STANAG 4569 Level 3 with optional armour upgrades. The basic armour package is designed to protect against 10.2mm all around and 14.5 mm armour-piercing rounds from the front. The vehicle is designed to be transportable in a C-150 Guardian transport aircraft and participate in airborne operations through paradrop weighing 15 Tons. The vehicle is fitted with a two-stage synchronized distribution gear box for both road (65mph) and cross country use (54mph). Improved suspension is fitted for optimum cross country mobility.
With the turret the vehicle can carry 4 infantry. Without the turret, it can carry 8.
