Act. 1 - Lights

The Bell XP-59 was a development off of their XP-52 twin boom fighter. The XP-59 was to have a larger engine and payload, as well as be able to reach higher speeds (about 388mph in this case). Two mock-ups were made of the XP-59 before the project was scrapped in favor of the eventually designated P-59A jet fighter. It was powered by an experimental radial engine rated at 2000hp driving a contra-rotating prop. The armament would have consisted of two 20mm cannons in the nose, and 6 .50 cal machine guns located on the leading edge of the booms.

My recreation

Among other things, this model features a detailed engine access panel (I used a spoiler for the hinges - see if you can find them), fuel caps (forward of the roundels), 13-stripe rudders, and a very nice airfoil that I'm quite proud of.

Thanks so much for commenting and upvoting!
