CMBT/M.44-RAK "Super Covenant"

Called "Super Covenant" because of it similar design as M.43 "Covenant". M.44 was a successor for M.43, with various upgrade and new feature. M.44 design to combat Obelia and Irilon Empire's MBTs face to face. Thick and strong armor, reinforced with various modular armors, made this tank a moving bunker. M.44 planned to replace M.43 in 2030.

History

In 2024, CSN official think that their current MBT, the Covenant won't able to fight the new Vindicator and Arbiter tank. Despite every upgrade it recieved, the tank still have no match againts them. So the design bureau ordered to design a tank that have strong armor and powerfull gun, good speed and manuaverability and easy to repair and produce.

A month later, a blueprint and a wooden mockup presented. It's codenamed Project CMBT-44. The design adopt similar design as the M.43, especially the turret shape, but with stronger armor and bigger size. The prototype test showed that the current M.44 design has problem on it's engine. It's underpowered and lack of manuaverability. The second prototype change the 140mm Cannon into 152mm Cannon and add 2 autocannon on it's side. The engine also upgraded into more powerfull V618X2 1900HP Turbin Engine. Second test showed that the second prototype is better than the first one.

After the second test, the officials ordered 50 tanks built with same design as the second prototype with slight upgrade and change. The first 50 then sent into battle againts a militia in a conflict zone. The battle test showed that M.44 is reliable. Then after few consideration, they ordered the tank to massively produced and soon will replace the M.43

Specification

The M.44 Super Covenant weighted about 70 tons with width about 4m, lenght about 9m and heigh about 3m. This variant however, has more weight because of the Reinforced Armor Kit (RAK). The weight increased to 78 tons from 70 tons.
The armor thickness on the front hull is 110mm, the side is 85mm, and the back is 65mm. This thick armor, reinforced with various ERA and bars made the Super Covenant able to take impressive amount of damage. The turret also made stronger, with 80mm-40mm armor thickness, reinforced with ERA and It's circular shape, made the turret nearly impenetrable frontally.
The massive 152mm Smoothbore Cannon can penetrate through nearly anything. The autoloading mechanism made the tank able to fire up to 12 shells per minute. 2 Autocannons on the back gave the Tank extra firepower againts infantry and light armored vehicle. The coaxial 14.7mm Machine Gun can annihilate an entire infantry squad with ease.
The powerful engine gave the tank Maximum Speed about 65kmph and able to travel about 900km without external fuel tank and 1300km with external fuel tank.
For defense system, M.44 uses same APS as Atlana's Spectre tank. But with different sensor. M.44 use Aegis L4 as it's sensor. A cheap but reliable sensor. This tank also equiped with smoke Grenade launchers and Aegis M1 Hardkill APS.
Despite all of this equipments, M.44 only operated by 3 crews. A driver, who sat on the front of the hull, a gunner, who sat on the left side of the turret and a commander, who sat on the right side of the turret.
The M.44 Super Covenant is a nightmare both to the Irilon Empire and Obelia Empire's tank divisions. Currently, there's 2000 Super Covenant already developed and now used by 10 CSN members.
