I'm going to test adding an extra balancing wing to the port side plus an equivalent amount of dead weight on the starboard and see if I can offset it that way.
@Skua i wanted to upload mine without the beta tag, but the problem is in XML version 3, the jet engine power multiplier string doesn't work, so I had to increase the max of the engine to about 5 (mine's slightly smaller in scale than yours so i was forced to use the smallest engine)... this resulted in it taking longer to spool up and spool down the engine than I wanted. In XML 4 (beta), I can set the power multiplier for the engine to 5 and the spool up/down speed functions normally. Looking forward to the beta releasing for all platforms!
@Skua This plane still amazes me. I refused to look at it while I was building my T-45 Goshawk (same airframe) because I knew I would never live up to this flawless build. Now that mine's finished, here I am drooling over yours again.
I'm not a big-name platinum Simple Planes user, but I'm into replicas and can give a small piece of advice here: Your starting point needs to be RESEARCH. Spend an hour searching through images, Wikipedia, etc. and get accurate measurements for as many pieces of the aircraft as possible. Use an "on-screen ruler" (Google it) to measure individual parts. Once your data is all set up, then pick a spot to start (recommend starting in the front center, working your way to the back center (right down the middle), then expanding outwards from there. Don't focus too much on the cockpit too early, build the airframe then build the cockpit, engines, intakes, wings, etc. afterwards. When I have some time I'm going to make a post on how I measure images to plan scaled replicas, but it's going to take some time to put together.
Meh, let the upvotes go where they may... if someone really puts that much merit in such a trivial system as to "forcefully" grind for points, more power to them (I suppose...). I prefer the quality over quantity approach myself, though I'm still learning quite a bit.
@TheMajesticMrL Thanks bud, my goal with this plane was to shoot for performance over "replica-reality." I wanted a plane that could do it all, and with the exception of challenges/races that require prop planes or gliders, this one can. Thanks for the note!
@AndrewGarrison I managed to get it fixed- I can't say which of the following did the trick since I did them all at the same time, but something worked:
1) Restarted game
2) Restarted steam
3) Restarted computer
@OtterOfToast I was the same way, until I opened up the XML files and realized all it let me do was fine tune things that the sliders/adjusters in-game force me to do poorly (like adjustments finer than 0.25 for fuselage blocks, rotations of less than 90 degrees). The engine mods don't bother me much either, because in real life there are WAY more than 5-6 engines available like we have in SP right now. I look at engine mods like I'm getting an engine from a different manufacturer.
@OtterOfToast @Supercraft888 I went through the video and added step by step annotations so it's more clear what's happening. If you watch the attack portion of the video again it should make more sense.
The main problem with the weapon rack is for challenges (like bomb practice, bomber escort, etc) you have to delete the weapon rack first because if you don't, when you load into the challenge, the rack falls into the water and tells you you fail the challenge because you hit the water. Easy to fix though, pick the wings you want and drag the rack to the trash before starting.
@Supercraft888 @OtterOfToast the defenses have a laser countermeasure system, but it takes a few seconds for the lasers to destroy the bomb, so the goal is to do a diving run to make sure the bomb is traveling fast and doesn't come off of your aircraft until 3-5 seconds from the target so the lasers don't have time to work. Be prepared to dodge a pair of missiles while you're on your attack run. The Boom50 is recommended because one explosion from a 50 is big enough to kill all of the anti-air systems.
@Supercraft888 the first pass I didn't have a good angle on the anti-air so I evaded their missiles and came in for a second pass - the second pass I do a dive-bombing run and drop a single Boom-50 which clears all of the anti-air systems.
The two bombs I drop at the very end are just me making my plane lighter. I brought 3 bombs in case I missed, but I hit on the first shot (and Boom-50s are pretty heavy so I get rid of them to make it easier to land in the tunnel).
Looks sweet - said not enough air to intakes and couldn't get it to take off by the end of the runway. Might need to give the engines some more juice in XML.
Why not be able to type in the settings how large the interval is for 1) rotation, 2) scaling length/width, and 3) rise/run. Would let us edit parts in-game by as small as, for example, 0.001 increments in all directions. Gets tiresome having to tab back and forth to the XML file.
@ACMECo1940 My mobile devices are both iOS so I don't have the ability to edit XML with them (to my knowledge). I prefer to do my detailed work on the PC and use mobile for exploring/flying when I'm away from home :)
stopped reading at anxiety
@umbreon something tells me it's intentional
i'd like to see in-game shots of aircraft too, the glare in the designer makes certain camera angles impossible on anything other than flat paint.

nicely done!
@Delta @Skua made the Red Arrows version of the same airframe a few months ago, check it out it's a gorgeous build
@Flightsonic what was it
i don't get it...
This is what SimplePlanes is all about!
this post cracked me up

@TheGuyWhoFliesToGetHisPie haha, but it flies like a space-bound rocket ship
Thanks for the support everyone - I love this jet and I'm glad you're enjoying it.
good idea here - automatic sequencing i like it
smooth ride
1850mph + 100,000' submission
No XML used, completely in the in-game builder.
seriously, mods/devs going to let something that is asking for upvotes in the title go unchecked?

+1@Thefalloutplayr the same way trump gets into the presidential race
@SimpleTechAndResearch lol, keep in mind that even today arresting gear is used to land on carriers with the exception of rotary and vtol aircraft.

@SimpleTechAndResearch Thanks for the idea - I'll see what I can do.

cool!
@SimpleTechAndResearch Specifically what do you mean?
Build planes because you want to fly them, not because you want upvotes, in my opinion.
@DeezDucks Sorry... first time modding engines and don't know if it's possible to change the sound?
I thought it was kinda funny.

If you need EW, fighter, or bomber...
Congrats, can you tell me how you see who your followers are?
Very nicely done.
@AndrewGarrison Did another run to show what I'm talking about - screenshots below. Thanks for your time.

Nice jet - need to add a camera up front to simulate cockpit view since your cockpit is upside down, even chase view is inverted. Keep it up!
@salvador3031 Improved on my old fictional series - crush the ice base with this one :P

The iron cross originates in the 1300s and represents much more than nazi Germany.
Forum up votes also add points.
@salvador3031 thanks, congrats on platinum bud!
@CB2002 Thanks CB
