@CL125, well, the moderators have now removed the joke hiatus announcements; in their messages, they direct users to this (also in the honorable mention of this forum post). So I don’t think these jokes are acceptable anymore.
If you go far away east of Wright Airport, there is an area where, if you see this message, the “Ye have made a grave mistake”, The Brown Pearl (which has a very deceptive look that, despite appearing to be a sailing ship with black, tattered sails, is extremely fast and can launch multiple missiles instead of cannonballs) has spawned. Note that you may see this message sometimes even outside said area, a glitch I have experienced, but the Brown Pearl will only spawn within said area.
@Nerfaddict, lucky for you. But most Simpleplanes users who have left either do not have time to play Simpleplanes anymore or have lost motivation. Work hours are usually very long, especially in the United States of America.
@Dathcha, yes I have known that and ColonelCanada apparently dislikes this, as it appears that his forum post made things worse. I even had to make a tutorial on how to make a good hiatus announcement.
It is with great sadness I announce to you all I will no longer frequent this site [as often].
.
It was great while it lasted, but the time has come for me to leave [temporarily].
Looks credibleish to me.
.
Oh and to Walvis' family: He hasn't come back with the milk yet, I'm afraid he is no longer with us, my condolences.
@Souplane, now this one is better than this forum post (I am hoping you are not joking). I’ll hopefully wait until you have finished your dinner. Also, note that I may not respond in time, as I have tasks to do. Good luck.
I will be back in like 20 minutes. I'm out of milk.
Do so when you are still replying to other people and someone or something interrupts you from interacting, for example: you are chatting with an user, talking about something. When you realize that you have ran out of milk, let that user know about that and then go buy the needed milk. After that, you can return to chatting with said user.
By just eating dinner (it takes an hour or several minutes to finish eating dinner), you are going to return to simpleplanes.com shortly after that, which, I consider, is too insufficient for it to be considered a relevant hiatus to be posted as a public-wide forum post.
The "I'm leaving" posts
LITERALLY NO ONE CARES
requirements for someone to care:
-Platinum (over 30k)
-Well known user
-Active
I see so many of these forums being posted, all by bronze users or users less than bronze.
These creators might have some fans, or at least some friends, and these fans/friends might wonder why said creator is inactive and begin to ask questions. The result: make a “I’m leaving” post publicly in the forums so their fans/friends won’t have ask them their whereabouts. But yeah, I get the point.
.
Some meme forums are actually funny.
Some, not so much.
Depends. Memes considered “funny” usually come from life experiences. However, most memes created by Generation Z are liable to be branded as “unfunny” for their incomprehensible nature.
.
Asking for help then not replying
What is the point of posting the forum if you're not gonna look at it for the next two months?
Once, I was browsing forums.
I saw a "help" forum.
I used my knowledge of building to help.
I requested to be tagged on an unlisted post to check the problem.
They didn't reply for another month.
There might be reasons why the creator might not reply to their help posts. These include:
They might be taking a hiatus away from the forums for various reasons.
They might have found the solution to their problem, but they forgot to tag their help post as “solved”.
.
Stop treating this place like Reddit.
The website may have some things similar to Reddit, but that doesn't mean it needs to be treated as such.
Here is basically what I see:
[Random title]
my tv had a stroke and died, I'm not gonna be able to play simpleplanes for the next three hours
[Random title]
im leaving bye
edit: get trolled im not lmao
[Relevant to forum title]
what is the best restaurant in downtown City?
The main reason, I suspect, why some people are treating this like Reddit is because the community was grown from Reddit in first place (remember r/simpleplanes?).
Now for the “basically what I see” section: The first one might need more explanation as the description is confusing, only mentioning that their television had a “stroke”. The second one might result in backlash for faking your departure. The third one might be considered to be too far off topic and may be removed by the moderators for this reason (see the rules for more info).
Model 1 is used for subsonic aircraft (it has added advantage of increased downwards visibility, useful for an attack aircraft). If you are making a supersonic aircraft, use Model 2 instead (blunt noses don’t do well in supersonic speeds).
His builds tend to get messy with disconnected parts floating around and his builds, while basic, has got some basic things right (e.g. the parts of the tripod being visible in one of the ship builds, along with detailing on the sides of the funnel). I do not understand why are you advertising this particular user, but I hope it does not cause similar controversy as in BelugaSub’s infamous forum post about the German Corsair.
@OwO, if that is so...
.
Well, I did not take inspiration from your CLevic 987 Julia. I did take inspiration from the F-15 eagle in service of the United States Air Force. You did take inspiration from the F-15 too, am I right? If that is so, our 2 aircraft are coincidentally similar on the basis that both are inspired by the F-15 eagle fighter aircraft.
@OwO, no, I did not spy on your devices and I never will even attempt to do so. You posted your jump jet more than a year later than my post (yes, this post you are currently viewing at) and it appears to be easy to make in just minutes (on the other hand, a layperson could easily differentiate them from each other). I would assume that this is a coincidence, since it seems that you became aware of my post and commented on it 7 days after you posted it.
They probably came from an unstable reality, judging from the excess violations of conventional tank-building norms and the violations of the laws of physics.
I am rather concerned. Has Airbus sent you a legal cease and desist letter over one of you builds? If that is true, we will end up having yet another incident not unlike as Honda’s takedown claim.
There is a specialized section of this website that let’s you upload videos here. Just click on the “create” button while in your account, follow the instructions listed, then you can upload videos on this website that can be viewed from there. Hope that helps. :)
Looks like a mix between modern day and diselpunk concepts. On the other hand, I’d rather call it a(n) “antigravity bus”, since trains consist of 2 or more cars (and travel in a continuous line).
Big question: If there is Adam, where is Eve?
Ah, the canopy framing...
.
It’s so intricate.
Interesting...

+1@Nerfaddict, lucky for you. But most Simpleplanes users who have left either do not have time to play Simpleplanes anymore or have lost motivation. Work hours are usually very long, especially in the United States of America.
The fate of many older users in simpleplanes.com, getting to work and having no time to play Simpleplanes.
Hina the spinning girl! Note that she has spiral motifs too.
+1@RepublicOfCursedPlanes, well I feel bad for him his post made things worse. Don’t you feel that too?
+2“Yakult”
Familiar to us Indonesians.
+3.
Also, please don’t make hiatus announcements for very simple short tasks.
@Dathcha, yes I have known that and ColonelCanada apparently dislikes this, as it appears that his forum post made things worse. I even had to make a tutorial on how to make a good hiatus announcement.
@TheCommentaryGuy, If we don’t post forums and don’t post anything, what’s the purpose of the forums and this site?
Looks credibleish to me.
.
Never mind, I am getting suspicious.

@ColonelCanada, I don’t know, but I think it was done for fun.
+2@FOXG, that is quite possible. However, as it might fall under the “no successor system circumvention” rule, I think this act might be barred.

Well, I’d suggest creating a forum post to link all of your unlisted unfinished projects on your alternate account.
+2Now what if she becomes a VTuber?
Note: the rules still apply here.
+2The fear of getting banned sometimes gets into the dreams of people...
+1The vacuum cleaner that could.
Can you credit the creator of the bogies? Anyways, quite nice starter train, not counting the occasional assymetry.
It’s Aya Shameimaru, one of Gensokyo’s prominent “news reporters”. Would it be better if the plane was modeled after the SR-72 Blackbrid?
+1Model 1 is used for subsonic aircraft (it has added advantage of increased downwards visibility, useful for an attack aircraft). If you are making a supersonic aircraft, use Model 2 instead (blunt noses don’t do well in supersonic speeds).
+2Pretty well detailed, but the lack of fuselage smoothing is something that does not really fit well for me.

+1Nippon wings superior wings!
+2.
Slash planes apart like katana!
@asteroidbook345, you could replace the fuselage wheel flanges with stock wheels. That should work.
@OwO, if that is so...

@LunarEclipseSP, no. Replace them to look like generic Touhou fairies!
+1They probably came from an unstable reality, judging from the excess violations of conventional tank-building norms and the violations of the laws of physics.
Cool concept, not really realistic. But please credit the original creator of the turret.
Well, that’s decent. Now time to convert this into a FBI van.
+1I am rather concerned. Has Airbus sent you a legal cease and desist letter over one of you builds? If that is true, we will end up having yet another incident not unlike as Honda’s takedown claim.
@asteroidbook345, are you also referring to Bird6369‘s comment?
How nice? You could make skeptics’ minds dizzy with this! XD
@DatRoadTrainGuy19, Asteroidbook345’s pronouns are she/her. It’s already listed on her bio.

2 hololive VTuber-themed aircraft. Fubuki as F-14 and Mio as F-15, both canine. They resemble the 2 Touhou canines.
You didn’t see anything...
.
Literally nothing. None of any parts appear in this build, to the point that the preview renders a black screen instead.
Looks like a mix between modern day and diselpunk concepts. On the other hand, I’d rather call it a(n) “antigravity bus”, since trains consist of 2 or more cars (and travel in a continuous line).
+1Looks like a small, civilian drone that has been significantly scaled up.
This plane looks so unnaturally long.
I think I have found the legendary Swedish Corsair...
