  • Player content feature is a great initiative 4.4 years ago

@SnoWFLakE0s The complain about not having custom thumbnail is very much valid even while paying less. SP isn't a p2w multiplayer game and neither is the community, we already have a lot less amount of features, and no one complains about that. And no one has said anything to Jundroo about returning mod support, but custom screen-shots are a key feature on the website, why should just pc players have it?
and designer suit is already integrated in the game, so they dont have to integrate another new mod for this, they'll just have to rework this one.
And I dont know the exact numbers of profits from platforms but generally speaking ios and android markets are more likely to generate more revenue as they usually sell more units to make up for the lower price.

@WarshipDude My knowledge pf warships is not really much but speaking in general terms "best in everything" isn't possible in real world, you can have a jack of all trades but then it cant be a master in anything.

  • Cutting Grass & Q/A 4.4 years ago

@FLOWRIDER0 don't worry I already have the designer folder backed up.

    How to : Simpleplanes
    * Make a replica, dont think about the handling too much
    * make it super high part count, doesnt matter if its actually detailed or not
    * Be plantinum/have a ton of followers
    * Watch as the upvotes stack up

  • This build needs more love. 4.4 years ago

Its a good joke but making fun of beginner planes isnt cool, also this is a pretty real issue on the site. Low effort and low detailed replicas get way more attention and love than a well promoted well made fictional plane. I ll even use my posts as example, I made a KI46 replica that had questionable quality and was made in a week that got 50 upvotes, on the other hand my A8 shepherd build (fictional) for which I even made a cinematic trailer, took nearly a month to research and make and had a ton of cool details has 20 upvotes.
And yeah, internet points do nothing but its about how many people found the plane and appriciated your craft.
What I am trying to say is its really not cool to make fun of beginner planes and nor to make fun of a pretty legit issue.

  • Mitsubishi KI.46 III Type 100 "Dinah" 4.4 years ago

@EngineerOtaku During my research for this plane I found out there were two/three types of armed KI.46s. Japan
never considered the dinah for an attack/intercepter aircraft until they were on their last leg in 1943-44. Development on a "KI.46 III KAI" started long after the battle of midway which had a pair of 20mm cannons and another fixed one at the top, it had reverted back to its "Step cockpit" design to accommodate the nose cannons. They even had a ground attack version called KI.46 otsu.
But all of these had the same problem, they were absolutely useless. KI.46s were built for speed, with light armor and a lack of selfsealing tanks it was never intended to endure a firefight head on. So its no surprise when enemy aircrafts began to get stronger over the war with improve radar technology the KI46 slowly became less and less useful. Slapping guns onto it didnt solve any problems, the intercepter versions weren't even equipped with radar.

  • Mitsubishi KI.46 III Type 100 "Dinah" 4.4 years ago

@Jerba Actually, cameras weren't really that good back then. Not atleast take clear images from 5000m above the ground good atleast. It had to have used other "visual enhancement devices" to do the trick I believe. I havent found any sources saying how it actually did its recon missions but I have to assume the recon was somewhat dependent of visual reporting as well cause every other country had to rely heavyly on visual reportings by observers as well.

@Jerba there absolutely is lol, I made an entire cinematic with a keyboard, you have to go into control and change some keybinds for a better experience, like having a look right left up down and zoom setups for the cameras and such but it works flawlessly.

  • g r a p h i c s 1 0 0 4.4 years ago

  • USAF A8 Shepherd 4.4 years ago

@switdog08 Yeah, I agree, but there isnt a way to program them to do that, since you still need power with airbrakes for landing the only option is to either have it on the vtol up stick or an activation group

  • The Unfortunate Truth 4.4 years ago

Its basically the metagame of simpleplanes at this point

create a detailed build that took you months
make teasers cinematics and other stuff for promotions that took good effort.
    upload it
    get 2 upvotes
see a platinum player got 80 upvotes for a shitty P51/spitfire/ a generic prop plane replica
    cry

its basically the follower systems fault. Its a sh*t system and it shouldnt exist.
