Fact:
I looked it up (on wikipedia) and apparently, “F-80” is just the air force designation. “P-80” is just what the first aircraft were called. This was to continue the WW2 era designation of fighter aircraft. This was until the F-80, where the air force changed it from P to F.

Plus, that kind of weapon wouldn’t be as effective as in other places. The weapon used was a Cordium-based weapon, which would be more effective in areas with more volcanic activity. Which I believe, that in where it was detonated, the fallout should clear within 2 weeks of the detonation. So, you can use the airport now.
