@AndrewGarrison I'm rly in the position to think that CoM offseting should be banned for this and future tournaments - moving the CoM of group of parts negates disadvantages of classical aerodynamics and enables this group to behave almost like a part of TVC-ed engine
@Zkillerwolfe Ye, for this engine the perfect value is between 10 and 15, especially for underpowered pitch. OTOH I found the holy grail of bad pitch - it's called too much mass on the tail and Chuck Norris approves that this should be fixed xP
@hopotumon It's possible to drop below 45 with 100% reliability, but with some XML magic. But even with non-modded version goin' through the finish with >1500mph brings the bug when the engine cannot detect the passing plane
@AndrewGarrison My submission for Daredevil. It's cleared from scale property, set the 'No Collisions' of some part with Overload to true or false, save it & check it with the validator
0:52, no crashes (gosh, ~200 runs per side, I've almost got a seizure), the editor is 140% user unfriendly (the 2nd seizure), aaaaand my first design feels more reliable (the 3rd seizure)
Anyway it's plausible some people to start offseting the CoM for Daredevil tourney. It's useless to say using it allows us to build an almost perfect ballistic missile for fun and ruins it in the tournaments, so probably if it's allowed then and massScale should be allowed too :) I assume the current number of exploits are found with help of multiple accounts which have submissions with forbidden XML-modded parts
@Alienbeef0421 All we go to the ... in simple words an inverted lift force design. With the PROPER suspension strength:dampening ratio ... Like in Formula 1. I prefer firstly to develop a working suspension, then aerodynamics
@Alienbeef0421 In longer term you'll definitely want it. Generally even in 3D the traditional physics must strive to 'the shortest path between A and B is the shortest line'
Ok, badass. Next time don't use classic designs (in this case a model from the game creators) to create 'Mobile Friendly Experimental Glider'. Just create your own, WITHOUT engines, and learn where in the game's world to start with a GLIDER :)
Improve the engines - max HP, max diameter, 6 blades, set them to 'Manual' pitch mode (75'-82' degree max angle controlled by Throttle input, starting position neutral), better profile of nose cones, remove useless landing gears (those at the second plane), reshape the wings a bit, make CoT-CoL-CoL to have symmetrical distances (in that order), set the fuel needed to be enough for these races: Indy Air Race, Typhoon Race and Shark Circuit
@AndrewGarrison
Ok ...
The freeze bug in the second round. Im not sure but it looks like Indi is winning this round ... Devil 300R vs Indi Go 232 https://www.simpleplanes.com/Tournaments/Matches?nodeId=8305

@Zkillerwolfe Seems my models are more stable with high (25 and above) wing loading with the same power than with low (20 and below) loading
@Zkillerwolfe And crashes 2-3 of 10, while it is more stable at turns than mine
I don't know what is worse - beaten by the AI or installing a newer AMD graphics driver ...
@Zkillerwolfe For the remaining 80% we can bribe the AI with better CPU or cooling system
@Zkillerwolfe 0:49, damn we're doomed xP
@SuperSanic Weird, rly weird if you ask me

@AstleyIndustries The thing is that I didn't use Overload when got this validation bug
@AndrewGarrison Yep, already removing it manually

1:01, reliability is 50:50 as always
Edit: 0:54, reliability >96% but everyone knows that the AI hates us :D
Fully opened class with limits only on the part count, weight and the power multiplier
@JetWondy Why you wanna be pwnd by the AI again? :D
@Geekpride You'll see AI-crashmania-2017
@AndrewGarrison Ban vamsam - his creation is a penis
@SuperSanic I told ya you'll have hair problems AND with this tourney :D
@WeeBabySeamus SKIP THE CURRENT MATCH, PLEASE
@AndrewGarrison Dude, skip the current match, PLEASE
@AndrewGarrison All noobs are ready to watch how their submissions fail.
@Alienbeef0421 All we go to the ... in simple words an inverted lift force design. With the PROPER suspension strength:dampening ratio ... Like in Formula 1. I prefer firstly to develop a working suspension, then aerodynamics
@Alienbeef0421 Roll and pitch usually are dampened harmonic motion

"Part scale did not pass validation"? Which part? You know it's better to highlight and flash in different color the part(s) which didn't pass

In fact this is a real RC model, just older enough so the wings need a replacement

@AndrewGarrison The tournament is still streaming
@AndrewGarrison Sent you some messages in twitch, so is it possible? :)
Sad, this model is faster than Dampfwespe
Damn yo, AI
My first match was pure horror
@SuperSanic It hurts, right? xD
NuanCat filled with a duck feathers?
I assume his plane uses a pillow design
k lol
Pls someone wakes up AudioDud3
Closed, I'm wondering where's the other twitch moderator, his majesty GlitchPride :D
3 minutes left, it's time to start your aircraft engines and watch them desintegrated by the AI
@hopotumon ABC123, marcox43, GlitchPride and couple more are here too, so it's ok to have a panic attack
Less than 24 hours until we'll be crash-landed by The AI
@AndrewGarrison Submissions check, please
No, it's not -- Daffy Duck, the fastest duck in the West
If massScale was allowed, I'm sure the run can be done in 23-25 seconds with prop model
@Zkillerwolfe Well, this means the AI now will smash your plane with the tail side first
@SuperSanic Me, but I usually build and test at 100FPS, cause it looks like AI behaves better
@iwannabeelected Wing loading below 15
