1.There is a VTOL engine but no VTOL nozzles to divert the thrust. 2.The central propeller spins in the opposite direction (slows the craft down instead of increasing speed).

Note: If the craft ends up upside down then move VTOL thrusters to any extreme end and apply 100%thrust. Cut thrust when right side up again.
