@YuukaNeko and ask any WWII historian. they will say that japan was a very suborn country. so even a threat would not make them surrender. and they had already beat the Russian in a few fights earlier. and Russia didnt have very many troops to make an invasion. they had no navy in that part of the world (there navy really really sucked) so they would have to way to get vehicles and other heavy equipment across that was needed for a successful invasion.

yes it is sad that many innocent men, women, and children have died by US drone strikes, but the majority of them are family members of terrorist.
im not trying to say its right, but compared to how many ISIS and other terrorist have killed, is only a small fraction.
its kind like why we dropped the A-bomb, it was "The wrong thing for the right reason". the Japanese still didn't surrender until 3 days after we dropped it. there government was very stubborn, in fact if we would have conquest across japan we would have likely killed more people as apposed to dropping the A-bomb.

@YuukaNeko the Russians had no "Rules of engagement" that would have kept them from taking innocent lives unless necessary.
