I can land on it just fine be it with my taranis RC radio, XBox controller, keyboard or touchscreen on ipad. Just practice with a decent plane until you get the hang of it
I would combine my love of planes, multirotors, rockets and off-road land vehicles to create a reusable rocket that launches a VTOL spaceplane with a 4-link rockcrawler inside. If they add props, I will happily make a rocket that can take your bushplane to any planet you like @jamesPLANESii @TheGuyYouMightKnow
Perfect! It really needs more unloaded weight to actually work properly for rock racing but it is just a chassis so I guess that’s ok. This seems to work better than my 4-link suspension for high speed
Application sent in but I am aware that I haven’t made any detailed aircraft. I’ll make a VTOL heavy attack aircraft with more detail then I usually do. I wish I could send in pics of RC aircraft I’ve built instead lol
You can’t set different inputs to guns but you can set different inputs to engines. Do you want an engine to fire up at the same time as the guns, cos I could do that for you
Well it’s hard to tell in simpleplanes since stall physics are out of whack. Most planes tip stall at extremely low speed IRL but that doesn’t seem to happen in SP
So what about the lights. Extremely common to remove regular headlights and replace them with roof mounted spotlights for pure off-roading vehicles. The axle is accurate enough for functionality and looks about right. My previous comment about lack of portal axles is defunct since this appears to feature portal axles. Would you prefer no description or a google translate description that makes no sense? I really don’t see why you don’t like this and haven’t upvoted. @Hawkeye156
Multiplayer on LAN (or worldwide), spawning AI aircraft, but the best is to just set several aircraft as subassemblies and arrrange them in the designer
Now I can’t get this to run cos my iPad crashes. I’ll try my PC later. Anyway, I think the landing gear positioning is not much of an issue since it is a canard configuration. Canards pitch up by increasing lift at the front. A standard aircraft pitches up by decreasing lift. It isn’t ideal to have landing gear like this, but it can definitely work fine. Again, I haven’t tested it yet @RamboJutter @BogdanX
The main body is, yes. However, I have seen many custom unimogs almost exactly like this. A custom or unique unimog is still a unimog. As far as I can tell, this has perfect unimog suspension and that’s all I really care about @Hawkeye156
You are correct. However, the only visible and functional difference in this game is the wheel size. Many unimogs look exactly like this but with bigger wheels and portal axles @Hawkeye156
but It’s far less durable and than double wishbone. In reality, this would snap your damper body the inns tang you hit a pothole or take a corner @Typhlosion130
Completely different camber throughout the travel, but yes construction is similar. Wheel camber plays a very important role in performance @Typhlosion130
solid axle suspension can be very stable in simpleplanes. You haven’t given this stabilising rods unlike every stable solid-axle vehicle. Try making 4-link suspension like this. With short, stiff travel it will be quite stable (but not as good as double wishbone)
I never said do that for every one jeez. I didn’t make a suggestion, I just pointed out that you can land on them and set manual locations so you can drive on it. They’re tiny and not much fun @tsampoy
Oh wait, this has an extra hinge on the wheel. I guess this is single link but like this it is extremely dangerous in RL (wheels tuck under when cornering). here's what I mean @Typhlosion130
I’ve stopped bothering to create stuff that other people like. I just make what I think is fun and then take it to various mod maps. Most of the time I don’t even upload my creations because it isn’t important enough to me anymore. I suggest you create whatever you enjoy and upload it if you want.
I think the devs need to employ some form of PID loop control (customisable in XML) for AI leveling, add some basic parameters for maneuvers (don’t pull a half cuban or Immelmann while at 100ft and supersonic) and allow small percentages of deflection (AI currently goes full deflection for a fraction of a second to make small corrections). I’m not a programmer, but I’m fairly certain it shouldn’t be too hard to implement these suggestions. I can help with producing documentation and examples for PID loops if you need it @AndrewGarrison
Rear wheels need real suspension. It triggers me to see a poor defenceless wheel heartlessly slapped on a fragile shock like that. #EveryWheelAndSchockDeservesSupport
@Typhlosion130 Yeah... Unfortunately SP doesn't like realistic vehicles. I've never managed to beat single link suspension for durability and anti-roll. What I have done better is traction and flex. I'll post a rock bouncer/racer/crawler challenge quite soon if you want to enter it

A divebomber with a few wing-mounted boom25s. Make it reasonably fast (~400mph max) but fairly maneuverable. Use prop engines
Perfect! It really needs more unloaded weight to actually work properly for rock racing but it is just a chassis so I guess that’s ok. This seems to work better than my 4-link suspension for high speed
+1No it wasn’t. Description just says it’s inspired by hunger games @Jacobdaniel
You need to make an off-road train with 4-link suspension (or something more complex)
Oh goody gumdrops!
+1Application sent in but I am aware that I haven’t made any detailed aircraft. I’ll make a VTOL heavy attack aircraft with more detail then I usually do. I wish I could send in pics of RC aircraft I’ve built instead lol
+1Add a rear door and fit a pun jet inside! With folding wings and rocket engine (just use a jet) of course ;)
Try it then @tsampoy
If you weren’t on IOS, I would suggest setting the hinge damper value to 0. But you’re on IOS so I won’t suggest that @tsampoy
That is ridiculously easy
+1That’s what I said dude. Tag someone else please @DPSAircraftManufacturer
+1Thanks! I set controls as pitch and roll because that’s the best configuration for an xbox controller @callmom1
Have all my upvoters disappeared D:
+1Very nice! I’ll have to do a Dakar truck soon @EternalDarkness
4-link is solid axle. Like this. I’m just feeling lonely making 4-link rock bouncers... all the rock crawler builders have left me :( @EternalDarkness
Are you ever going to try a vehicle with 4-link suspension?
What is the average airspeed of a swallow?
How is it that I can spotlight this? This is way better than my stuff (other than the fact that it’s terrible at rockcrawling)
+1You can’t set different inputs to guns but you can set different inputs to engines. Do you want an engine to fire up at the same time as the guns, cos I could do that for you
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Sorry. But seriously though, just tell your father or it will get a hell of a lot worse.
Well it’s hard to tell in simpleplanes since stall physics are out of whack. Most planes tip stall at extremely low speed IRL but that doesn’t seem to happen in SP
Wow. Really? I’m going to stop this now @Hawkeye156

No idea @LOSTechOrdnance

here's what this creation is most likely based off. The unimog is incredibly diverse and isn’t just a utility truck @Hawkeye156
The main body is, yes. However, I have seen many custom unimogs almost exactly like this. A custom or unique unimog is still a unimog. As far as I can tell, this has perfect unimog suspension and that’s all I really care about @Hawkeye156
Try connecting another cockpit to the drone. Guns fire when they are disconnected but nothing else does
You are correct. However, the only visible and functional difference in this game is the wheel size. Many unimogs look exactly like this but with bigger wheels and portal axles @Hawkeye156
Well, yeah they might. You know there’s no much in default SP right? @tsampoy
It sure is! I’m making a scratch built depron version with a wider, symmetrical wing and better fuselage shape at the moment. @TTHHSSSS
+1That’s for sure lol. Like a 20000kph plane with a snub nose @Typhlosion130
but It’s far less durable and than double wishbone. In reality, this would snap your damper body the inns tang you hit a pothole or take a corner @Typhlosion130

Excellent! Simpleplanes is perfect for 8bit creations now I come to think of it

+2You can’t auto-discover them. You have to set a manual location @tsampoy
This is it lol. You are using single link suspension @Typhlosion130

+3Either no suspension, or you use stock landing gear @ThePrototype

@Jacobdaniel ITS FREE. If someone is asking you to pay for any access at all, they're scamming you
Life will be OK if you fly FPV quads and planes and create electric all terrain vehicles with complex suspension. No other ways to have fun in life
