  • Physics question about power 1.7 years ago

And adding on to what PlaneFlightX said, look at the engine, they show a lbf (pound-force). That little orange dot that shows the center of thrust is literally just the point where all the forces are equal. If you have 2 jets with 3,000 lbf, then that orange dot has 6,000 lbf going probably backwards. If the jet weighs 10,000 pounds, it will have a 0.6 thrust-to-weight ratio, and likely shouldn't be able to climb at a 90 degree angle
    .
I have a bunch of kinematic equations written down, but I rarely use them in SP because they typically don't work anyways lol.
Also, velocity is squared, by the way

Name: Thunder Hawk Initiative (the name of the revolutionary group/constitution, not the actual nation, which I still need a name for)
Lore: after a 2036 nuclear fallout, a young man named Joseph Blitz reunites the nation under a new flag, and government. The former union of states no longer persists, having it's territories, Baja California, and Canada annexed, and subdivided into 11 collectives, and 2 commonwealth (Canada and New England). Through Social ideas as well as Syndicalist and Anarchist policies, the people are more free and united. Next, is Napoleans dream... invading Europe to save them from the menace of the bear who has destroyed so many lives...
Population: roughly 400 million, + or - 20 million, and it has the territories of the current United States, Canada, and the Mexican states of North and South Baja California

    @Geekpride yes, they will! 😂
Sorry, should have clarified. By 1946, the basis for modern carriers and carrier operation had been formalized, the USS Tiny/Tiny Two are representative of early 20s-30s carriers, as later ones by the mid to late 40s had catapults and lifts to accommodate larger and more numerous amounts of aircraft

  • LaC.937-43-X 1.7 years ago

Now, because I liked it so much, I will still grade it as if it were in the challenge, so here ya go!

    SCORING CHART

    Speed 10/10
    Maneuverability 8/10
    Realism 3/15
    Requirements 5/30
    Carrier 0/15
    Tactical Ability 0/10
    Looks 2/5
    My Opinion 5/5
    Total 33/100
Notes: This is a really dope plane and I loved flying it. Sadly, it misses a lot of the marks for the requirements, however, I still love it an honor it. Ik glad you're back, Flewy! This airplane was fun 😂
It just sucks that I had to disqualify it

  • LaC.937-43-X 1.7 years ago

I'm going to send two messages here, this one is the first. I'm really really sorry, because I genuinely love this plane, but I cannot allow it because too many of the requirements are broken. The wingspan and length I could shrug off, but the weight is off by a lot, the part count is too low (this plane looks good enough where I wouldnt mind though), and the jet and prop are too powerful, there are no weapons, and the plane is not carrier capable. For this reason, and once again I am sorry, this plane is

    Disqualified

I entirely agree with all of this. The forums are for help, for giving tips or new concepts to the community, trying to advertise a newly released build/teasing an in-progress one, and challenges and such. A year or so back, a Dev or Mod, I don't remember who exactly, sent out a forum basically saying that "making a forum denouncing someone else or a group being annoying, while helpful, is more fuel for the fire, as people will try making a forum like that too"
Although, I disagree with that bit

Oh! And another note, before anyone asks, realistically, you can have contra-rotating props, but they have to be "connected to one engine." No more than two props, and if there are two, they must be contra-rotating. If you have questions on horsepower, just contact me.

  • 1946 Specifications Challenge! [CLOSED] 1.8 years ago

The hyperlink on the XF15C-1 leads to my shamelessly promoted build that is a great starter to look into its construction if anyone needs help with building techniques (although I am a poor example lmao)
Again, if anyone needs anything or has questions, contact me here or through an unlisted and I will help! But I will not give advice on people's builds or help them construct it, as this is unfair. Just a note.
