@SodiumChloride If I figure out how to make larger landing gear I may try to make the Short Stirling and perhaps have a go at a turboprop version of the B-36. I want to try to make a turboprop biplane and triplane as well.
@SodiumChloride the tail on the cr42 was so heavy that combined with too much lift being generated by the wings it was doing a constant vertical loop the loop on my computer. My next project is going to be converting a B-17 to have turboprop engines. Do you have any build suggestions/requests in case I run out of ideas? I may try to make a monoplane conversion of the Gloster Gladiator.
@SodiumChloride I made the wings produce more lift and altered the center of gravity at least in part by substantially increasing the fuel capacity, though I did not alter anything else. If I were you, I would make tweaks on the planes while building until they fly to satisfaction before uploading (I am not saying you did a poor job, I am just giving some general advice based on experience). I am not entirely sure that the flying is 100% accurate to the real thing but it is good enough. Have you checked out my cunard x shaped wing jet fighter yet? (Yes, I could not come up with a good name so I named it based on its appearance when viewed from the top). It has a high roll rate and flies reasonably well despite the unorthodox design. the wings are in the back half and split into two going outward, and the swept forward and swept back wing panels have their own ailerons, thus increasing available aileron area while keeping the span somewhat down. I may try to make some more historic airplanes but have no idea on how to make larger retractable gear (as in larger than what the game provides even with mods)
@IzzyIA This is based on a design I came up with in high school around 10 years ago. The idea was that having two sets of ailerons would increase the roll rate to better evade enemy fire.
This wasn't bad, but I did make a few improvements (better control, greater fuel capacity, modded jet engines that have a lot more power than the original engines did as well as much less fuel consumption, and some gyros for additional stability at high speeds.) my improvements made it into something worthy of recognition. I may upload it at a later date. I may also try to give it some extra weapons.
I would say this looks kinda like a cross between a Bronco and a C-119 Flying Boxcar. I does look kinda cool as well, though it seems rather underpowered. i will increase the engine power, and fuel capacity if possible.
This looks more like A B-29's wing was installed onto A B-17 that lacked its own wings (though if that were done in real life, I think the performance would be significantly boosted).
I tweaked it to have more power and more fuel. after the tweaking, it flew beautifully (The appearance is still the same, but the performance is excellent).
seems to fly beautifully. the only thing I can really criticize is the short flight endurance; this thing guzzles fuel like no tomorrow. even after I greatly increased th fuel capacity, I can only squeeze maybe 4 minutes of flying time at full throttle before the fuel runs out even with double fuel capacity, though I doubt the real thing could hit 2000mph.
Seems to fly quite well, though the range does leave something to be desired. I did try increasing fuel capacity with disastrous results but at least did not save the changes made to the original version.
I did manage to make do a water takeoff first try, then had some takeoff mishaps for the next several attempts, then had another good water takeoff. All that is needed is very gentle nose up pitch at maximum water speed (first let it settle for about thirty seconds before giving it full throttle).
this seems to fly great, though i did increase the fuel capacity and added some ballast in the front due the the fuel load throwing the balance off. Sometime I may test the maximum extended range to see how long it can stay airborne,
I managed to make the modifications, though I did also have to enlarge the fin to give it enough stability to get it off of the ground with some rudder assist to keep it from wandering all over the place, as well as tinker with the wheels to keep them from falling off upon the plane loading. In the end, I managed to make it fly surprisingly well considering how much trouble I had keeping it straight long enough to achieve flying speed. I did make all of the front main wings unstaggered and mounted as far forward as possible, as well as putting two pairs of wings around the middle of the fuselage, thus converting it into the Fokker V8 (I did leave the fuselage and skid alone as they were fine.
I was thinking about modifying this to the Fokker V8 at some point (it had two additional sets of wings just behind the cockpit) to see if I can make it fly properly.
Flies very nicely, though I thought the real Nesher had small canards. did you choose not to add them for some reason (forget to add them, or did they have a negative effect on stability?)
@Nxcaliburn 10000mph is Mach 13, so maybe you meant 10000mph or else Mach 130, though I cannot see how anything could go that fast without melting, even with the same foam stuff on real Space Shuttles
How fast do the missiles go? I made a jet (with a modded engine pack thing that I downloaded from the mods portion of this site) that is capable of 10,000+ mph. If anything could outrun a missile, it would be that (there aren't many planes on simpleplanes that I am aware of that could even come close to that speed, and have only encountered one that is faster.
@ForeverPie did I mention that I recently made a single engine jet (using a modded engine) that can reach 10,000+ mph? Because I did, and could make a video to prove it, though I have not succeeded in landing it at the end of a legitimate flight yet due to getting lost and exiting the sim due to tiredness (though I did land it on a final approach load)
seems all right aside from wanting to spin when maneuvering at low speeds. I added some wheels to permit ground takeoffs as well as increasing the fuel capacity for longer range.
@TheStapler I just finished a futuristic bomber capable of over 4,000 mph. It has twin engines (modded engines with very good mileage and VERY high power output as well as variable geometry wings with very steep sweep (will post soon, as in within a few minutes)
@QingyuZhou just uploaded the modified version, giving you credit for most of the work. it is a little finicky taking off, but it needs little to no trim once it hits over 220 mph
@QingyuZhou just tweaked the shape of the main wing and horizontal stabilizer. It took a bit of effort to lift off of the water, but once it got airborne, it flew quite well. the layout is still the same, the shape is merely altered to match the plans better. I may try to make my own equivalent sometime.

Looks kinda like a cross between a F-111, F-14, F-18, and F-22
Looks ok. Will try this out, and perhaps do a little tweaking.
Appearance wise, this reminds me a little of the Rutan Voyager.
Looks reasonably close to the real thing.

looks like a single-engine variant of a F/A 18 Hornet. flies reasonably well.
I could swear this resembles the Concorde.
I added elevators to the rear wings and enabled trim, and that seemed to cure its pitch down problem at cruising speeds at least.
@AstleyIndustries are you referencing Sonic the Hedgehog?
I would say this is heavily based on the B-2 Spirit.
not too bad, but I had a fighter-bomber capable of Mach 10+
This looks more like A B-29's wing was installed onto A B-17 that lacked its own wings (though if that were done in real life, I think the performance would be significantly boosted).
looks like this may be inspired by the design of the B-25 Mitchell. seems to fly well enough.

This seems to be as agile as a fighter jet. This is also unrealistically fast for a propeller-driven airplane. (can go over 760 mph)
peaked out at about 5100 mph at 130,000 feet. Not bad, though at low speeds it is rather nose heavy.
for a moment at least I somehow (still don't know how i did it) got it to exceed 156,000mph

Kinda resembles a B-17.
Looks like this was at least partially inspired by the tupolev tu-95 bear.
Looks kinda like a cross between a F-16 and a F-18. the range is not too great but everything else is exceptional.
I managed to make the modifications, though I did also have to enlarge the fin to give it enough stability to get it off of the ground with some rudder assist to keep it from wandering all over the place, as well as tinker with the wheels to keep them from falling off upon the plane loading. @Leyton123 Not quite, due to the wing plan being different. I would say that the wing is base on the Hughes H-1's wing (minus retractable gear).
I was thinking about modifying this to the Fokker V8 at some point (it had two additional sets of wings just behind the cockpit) to see if I can make it fly properly.

How fast is this? I managed to make a jet that can hit at least 10,000 mph and it only has one engine.
Isn't this slightly derived from the Lockheed L-188 Electra?
Not bad. the handling is a little tricky for newcomers especially at very high altitudes.
This bears a strong resemblance to the C-130 Hercules.
This thing is insanely fast.
I would swear this is basically an Avanti with the horizontal stabilizer of the F-104 Starfighter appearance-wise, though it handles like a fighter.
This looks a lot like the cancelled Boeing 2707-400. Will try out immediately.
@BogdanX this plane came quite late in the war if I remember history correctly.

the photos remind a a little of the F-4 Phantom.
