49 upvotes and still underrated. This is truly an outstanding build. Sorry to see you go my friend. It’s a shame great builds like this get outshined by garbage that can’t fly. You’re one of the few artists within this game and you deserve far more for what you’ve created.
@hiiamhere check out my submission for your challenge! I may have bent the rules slightly… but I heard the words “dragon” and “racing” and went to work. I’ve never tested it on a course either tbh lol, my main focus points were speed, and looks. Hope you enjoy!
@V2 I just create these things because I think they’re pretty neat, and for anyone who finds and enjoys it. Feels kinda cool to have a functional dragon in SimplePlanes
If you try to flap wings too excessively, there is a possibility for damage, but the fun with this comes with keeping it in stable flight, with periodic gliding!
Hey! @AWESOMENESS360 I’m following up on your shoutout, and I think this may be one of the most intricate and beautiful dragons on SP. and I love your inspiration! Wings of fire was a big part of my childhood and I’m so glad to see such an iconic dragon replicated in such a beautiful way. Great job! (Just to let y’all know on the side my next build is Queen Scarlet of the Skywings!)
@Theonelmes yeaa it’s made more for pc / vr, your phone is a trooper for even downloading it. Since it’s probably my favorite one I’ll knock some peices off & drop a mobile version
This keeps happening and it’s absolutely infuriating. On complicated builds, I wake up coming back to the game and find parts of my build in places they don’t belong. Moved slightly off the X axis, rotators reset. It’s unbelievable. It makes me want to stop playing.
@FormYla1 the next prototype is twice the size :) gotta leave out detail if it’s huge tho so I don’t burn your computer. Had to cool my phone down after testing.
Pretty fed up with SP rn. I’ve been playing for 7 whole years, and I know what I’m doing. Just put about a weeks worth of work into a super detailed dragon with a 500 foot wingspan. I tested the plane extensively over the course of the build & FINALLLLLLLYYYYYY got it to work without any part damage. I post the plane and come back to the game to find half of my hinge rotators disconnected RANDOMLY without my inputs. Ya know. I just spent DAYS making this thing perfect and bc of a bug it doesn’t function when I post it. U N B E L E V A B L E. and it’s not like I can remove the post or anything. Reconnected all the joints and reposted and now I have 2 of the same posts. Cmon simpleplanes make this easier on me snapping the prices in the right places should be the hardest part.
Re posting because the wings got messed up. I have no explanation for this. Simpleplanes better give me one. I tested the aircraft extensively the day before, with everything working seamlessly. The second I post the plane all my wing detatchers disconnect. Unbelievable. Reposting a fixed version.
Forget that last comment, the bigger the better. If your PC can handle it, my latest prototype has a 700’ wingspan, and I believe flight is an achievable goal. Might break 500k lbs.
@AWESOMENESS360 thank you! Took me a while to get ‘em like that. The entire project was hugely time consuming, unless I really get good feedback I probably won’t do another massive one again
@JeskoGoesVROOM Not a problem at all, I was mainly looking for advice on how to post screenshots from in game, to your post on SimplePlanes, as I cant seem to get this to work on mobile.
@DesertRatDavid check out the previous version of it!! It doesn’t have legs but it works just as well! As of now I’m debating either making Fatalis, or a Hungarian horntail next, which will be mobile friendly!
@JeskoGoesVROOM oh awesome that’s great thank you! Just any of it flying in the air would be amazing, maybe one of the mouth open and legs curled, and maybe showcasing the fire breath???
@V so you’re saying a more advanced version would be more interesting? I was focusing on trying a new shape of wing and body style designed to fly faster, with capabilities of handling a high top speed without failure. I’ve scrapped versions with an articulating jaw, rotating and flapping wings, and ornithopter wings because they just didn’t fly better or look as impressive in the air.
What a fantastic build

@DesertRatDavid check out my new mobile build!!!

It’s ground takeoff and landing capable!!!
@DesertRatDavid check out the previous version of it!! It doesn’t have legs but it works just as well! As of now I’m debating either making Fatalis, or a Hungarian horntail next, which will be mobile friendly!

@V hmmmm you may be into something. I might have to build a cyborg next!
