Before starting the game proper,
on taxi way for take-offs
- set VTOL to Down Max to lower hind landing gears
- put Trim to Down Max to close the bomb bay doors
- press 8 to deactivate the missiles and bomb bay doors
- set trim to 0.25 above the Down Max
- press 1 to set the hind landing gear doors to more aesthetic position
- press1 again to deactivate the doors
- set trim to Up Max
- approach the Catapult

upon take-off
- press the launch button to take-off from the carrier
- set VTOL to neutral position to retract the hind landing gears
- press 1 to close the hind landing gear doors (Trim should be set up to Up Max before doing this)
- use the conventional landing gear button to retract the nose landing gears
- press 1 again to deactivate the hind landing gear doors
- set trim to Down Max
- press 8 to activate the Weapon System

during battle
- use reset trim button to instantly open the bomb bay doors
- press 4/5/6/7 to launch missiles (detachment force of the pylons is 50% so that the missiles will not hit the plane)
- immediately close the bomb bay doors after firing by setting the trim to Down Max to reduce drag

during landing approach
- make sure that the bomb bay doors are all closed and the Weapon System are deactivated
- set trim to 0.25 above Down Max
- press 1 to open hind landing gear doors
- set VTOL to Down Max to lower the landing gear
- press 1 to deactivate the doors and to lock it in place
- press 3 to lower the arresting hook
- approach the carrier at 225-250 mph at decreasing altitude and a 3-degree approach angle
- if the hook snags a cable, hit breaks, if nothing has been snag, throttle up
