Plan armament:
1 X 37mm cannon (150 rds, 720 rpm 820/s 550g mass)
2 X 13.2mm machine gun (400 rds p/g 1300 rpm 920 m/s 51g mass)
Upscale mass and round diameter according to 1.41818
Protection
0.6mm-0.45mm (vs American 0.5mm area)
22mm pilot back plate (vs about 15mm)
78mm frontal bullet proof glass (vs about 60mm (?))
5mm firewall
25mm coverage where engine is not in way frontal
1mm around self sealing fuel tanks
Bomb choice is 1 X 500 kg bomb
Use tiny structural wing to attach cannon into propeller hub
Altitude performance of engine is impressive in it's installation, besting the P-51D-30
Fictional Fact:
Most air kills ever achieved at 827 aircraft confirmed shot down in 723 combat ops
I checked mobile version again, upped physics, then lowered physics and the instability magically dissappeared. But I find it slow to pitch a bit @maverickvii
Of course I will @Rugpeersdude
you'll have to wait a while though. Trying to make it good enough for presentation, I
"broke" the speed though. It can do supersonic...
mobile. Very weird. Low settings. Is that the source of this discrepancy? Might I have touched something I should not have? Or is this just my problem? I know you would not have published an aircraft if it did not meet it's purposes to your satisfaction, so I am confused on this matter. @maverickvii
Major joint inconsistency involving wing connection. If you are to remove the piece on the left side of the rearmost position of the wing root it removes the wing and the engine. The right side is much tougher. Everything behind that point and at that point up until the last two parts should be elongated. But otherwise it is perfect, I could never do better @maverickvii
Historical Discussion
The Zero is probably well known for being victim to superior American aircraft; this is partly true. The Zero suffered from poor tactics, prevention of the navy for an engine upgrade to 1550 hp (in 1942), a training program too slow to replace pilots that also ate up too much resources among other things. Imagine the Bf-109 E-3 being more or less the same thing throughout the war. Thats basically what happened to the Zero; stupid IJN...
Applause! Try using fuselage pieces for wings for improved aerodynamic performance.
Could you try and pit it against a 27C? Give it a pair of 13mm HMG of 800 rpm in the wings and if possible a nose mounted 30mm MK 108 for the preferred armament
@SpiritusRaptor While I like your builds I always feel as if your aircraft noses are too short, too abrupt. Of course, this is coming from a person who sticks too long a nose on their aircraft so it probably doesn't count
@Syaf No not really, the propeller diameter was increased by about 5 inches and the person just gave up... I do thank him for his effort but it was not at all a full upgrade
Thank you! That is actually the weighted version @KurtTank
@KurtTank Thank you, but I think it look far too plain and simplistic. It just feels wrong. What do you think of it's flight characteristics?
@Mainblocks ???
@KurtTank I want that too... looks at 27C
I have read that F6F's were "suprised at it's turn and roll rates" and often found themselves "dogfighting a bomber" @Mainblocks
Try better integregation of air intakes to fuselage next time
@SigmaTwelve Sorry for late reply but I meant IRL. It would disrupt airflow
Good lord, how in the name of God is it so hard to make faster in vanilla?! And why does it get into spins so easily?!
I will try to make edited version for you. I will give you unlisted so you get every single upvote if it gets any at all
Thank you!
@Mainblocks IRL it was
-durable
-quick to roll
-able to perform high speed maneuvers as it was after all, part dive bomber.
-able to dogfight F6F's
@Mainblocks Where is internal bomb bay? Why is this so small? Why is pro/con list full of lies?
@Mainblocks focke*-wolf censor your cussing. This sounds oddly wrong...
@KurtTank Why does it not have "wing landing gear"? No angle? There is modded version of that
Could you try out my 27C concept? It is sort of the reverse of your oversized aircraft

eww, wing mounted cannon lol

No, no, no, not weight wise, the look. Good luck! @JoddyFubuki788

For some reason it doesn't fly all that well. @maverickvii
Try not to make it so bulky in your next one perhaps? Sorry, I am rather obsessive about efficient looks, so bulkiness isn't my thing.
Amazing look. I wish I was able to capture that look

Could you try and keep the original cockpit glass form? Please? I'm not able to revert it @NSStancik
@General360 @RAF1 thank you!

@General360 thank you! I am trying to make an updated A6M3 mod 22 Zero right now.

Here's an idea you rotten fool, sticking a few jet engines inside the car! @JolanXBL
stupid AI can't fly my 29 and puts it into spins...

To expand, mass does not matter much to aircraft; just get a big enough engine. @jamesPLANESii
Q: tell me how they got a 90,000 lb aircraft with 48,000 lbs of thrust to go 1868 mph
A: In the air, p/w ratio's don't affect maximum achievable airspeed.
@NSStancik I need help with my 27C Concept. Could you help me with affixing your cockpit?
If it goes slower than before than that doesn't sound right...
Can you please mod the engine to 2800 hp and a 200 inch propeller? No one has fulfilled my Mod request fully yet @TheLatentImage, @Delphinus
This concept is done. It failed all requirements
Try using the new fuselage block...
@Syaf No not really, the propeller diameter was increased by about 5 inches and the person just gave up... I do thank him for his effort but it was not at all a full upgrade
@Delphinus
Err, @Allstar this plane is mine...
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/4tg4Nc/Type-27C-Concept @Delphinus Sorry for being slow, Thank so much!!!
@Delphinus
Still, these aircraft are awesome, I was not very interested in this game until I saw this. @SpiritusRaptor
@SpiritusRaptor yes! I'd very much like it.
I forgot to say this but I should now. This plane is what got me into simple planes. This masterpiece, while it is a bit fragile it is amazing.
@SpiritusRaptor
Russian fighters have odd numbers in their name...
