The tanks in the field often have many modifications done to them, however, they have two fuel tanks mounted on the rear that are filled with a type of foam that helps to prevent fuels from catching fire. The drums are also armored against small arms fire.
The tanks often have a log shoved right behind the engine compartment, and the floor covered in sandbags.There are also many non-field modifications . . . cage armor down the sides of the tank or a rubber flap over the lower glacis to protect from HEAT weapons.
The M97 was developed to provide a very well performing vehicle, for a lesser cost than other tanks already in ROC service. It is also quite light and is very easy to maintain in the field.
A M97B only costs around $2.3 million, without ERA. ERA and ERA lugs brings up the price only marginally and the ERA is easy to replace. Each tank weighs about 42 tonnes without the ERA, and about 44 tonnes with ERA. The tank is armed with and 125mm gun with an auto-loading system, and it carries 47 rounds. It has one round in the chamber and 46 in the armored ammunition rack. The rack is computer organized by round type and uses and special robotic arm similar to that of the I.R.L. T-84 Tropical. The tank also mounts a roof mounted 12.7X108mm MG on the roof with 2,000 rounds and a 7.62x54R coaxial MG with 5,000 rounds.
The frontal armor of both the turret and the hull is impenetrable to all but the largest of threat weapons even without the ERA, and is nearly impenetrable with the ERA. The sides are not well armored without the ERA, the ERA on the B-model dramastically improves survival in urban environments.
The engine is the 1,200 HP diesel GWT-12 and the transmission is the 5 forward and 2 reverse speed, automatic TT9. The tank has a top speed of 57 mph and a very good traverse speed. The turret also traverses very fast and the gun can depress 14 degrees.
The sighting system is lacking, and it is being upgraded soon. It isn't bad, but it ain't good either. The system has two panoramic sights and is now needing an update.
@DankDorito Light tanks nowadays are more of an IFV, or are used solely by units that couldn't field MBTs. Many modern light tanks only mount auto-cannons and are meant to be used along side paratroopers.
I will join, but we need two alliances: BRICS and NATO . . . we would also add the ex-communist states in with the BRICS nations. @ThatOnion @Testin123
@PyrusEnderhunter Also, I wasn't online when the attack had occurred. I wasn't online 24 hours before the attack . . . also, apparently during the attack I was sleeping.
@TemDesBur It is better than your other tanks, but I still don't like it.
Permission to . . . LoL?
@KDS We both came up with the idea is what I meant . . .
@Pilotmario Oh, and I could challenge your navy with the help of Japan . . . which is a part of my nation.
@Pilotmario He is basically independent, but he is the leader of Korea . . . Korea is no longer under his influence as he has been killed in the RP.
@Gmanndo1000 You left for a Sicily, and then got dragged back to the ROC.
@Gmanndo1000 You don't have procurement rights.
@Supermini555 Welcome.
@YuukaNeko Thank you, also, can I be linked to your modification of the FK-15?
ROC will not use it.
@MadBomber Okay

Okay@AwesomeDesign717
Do you want to join the C&C RP?
(Shmexy tenk BTW)
@AwesomeDesign717 Want to join the Command and Conquer RP, as to be my space dude?
I think the engines need to bigger, other than that, it looks great. @TemDesBur
T/ M97B Veillance (official designation)
Infact, most armies that are decently modern . . . or are on and defensive footing . . . don't use light tenks.
Basically this tank isn't necessary.
@DankDorito Light tanks nowadays are more of an IFV, or are used solely by units that couldn't field MBTs. Many modern light tanks only mount auto-cannons and are meant to be used along side paratroopers.
@DankDorito In today's terms, a MBT is both a heavy and medium tank.
Greeks use T97. @TemDesBur @DankDorito
Pretty dang fat . . .
@VernalTie513 Yes.
@MadBomber Get politics
Oh, and welcome back to the ROC.
I will join, but we need two alliances: BRICS and NATO . . . we would also add the ex-communist states in with the BRICS nations. @ThatOnion @Testin123
A T-62 and a Kv-2 made baby.
We both like to use Japan's parts, don't we . . .
@PyrusEnderhunter Also, I wasn't online when the attack had occurred. I wasn't online 24 hours before the attack . . . also, apparently during the attack I was sleeping.
@PyrusEnderhunter The war was just voted illegal.
@PyrusEnderhunter They had just attacked me
@PyrusEnderhunter -That was about India
@PyrusEnderhunter Yeah, but I was offline . . . and I wasn't offline for more than 3 days. The attack was against the rules.
@PyrusEnderhunter And we were allies . . .
@PyrusEnderhunter Umm, but I wasn't offline for 3 episodes, the attack wasn't valid.
@Pilotmario -Also, your a prick.
@AccipitrisEnterprises @Pilotmario @PyrusEnderhunter So I was offline for like 2-3 days, and then this happened.
This looks like it is straight out of C&C.
Why you need this? Just strap a dozer blade to an APC.
-This tank made me lel
LeL
@tuco It looks a little fat, otherwise, it looks good.
@Othawne Okay
@tuco Canadia navy stronk.
@tuco Your welcome Frenchy!
Don't that name start with O? @Othawne
@QuantumSandwich Welcome . . . I don't know why South Africa replaced all of them.
