Vertical wobbliness (as in the AI makes your plane a dolphin): Make your control surfaces smaller and wider. AI tends to like wide and short pitch controls and slightly narrower and longer rollers.
Horizontal wobbliness (your plane shakes side to side in flight): Make dat tail/dose tails bigger boi! Ok But really making the tail/s bigger and moving them further from the center of mass should fix it.
@Viperfox It'll definitely last a few rounds, since a bunch of people are entering random stuff or models. Heck, yours is one of the better one's I've seen.
@Alienbeef0421 The two-stage system I have going still manages to allow the max speed for props... I think it has to do with engine placement so that the accelerator props don't limit top speed but still contribute off the starting line
@Typhlosion130 I'll be sure to check it out tomorrow when I can. The same thing happened to me and my parts when I made my new computer, I don't have any of my old sub-assemblies and now I don't remember how I made them or how they fit together.
@Typhlosion130 I think it all comes down to drag and thrust. Having the right number of engines doing what is super important; I forget what exactly I have my entry set to, but it's something like 2 acceleration engines (0-300ish) and 3 or 4 that carry it up to top speed (350-755). From there it's all about drag and wing loading.
@Typhlosion130 It's going to be hard, but I think cutting down the drag and having a bare minimum of fuel can at least get me to 2:11... Also, if I were you I would make sure my plane was consistent too ;)
I like the spread that guns have now, makes them feel a little more realistic, but I think it would be cool if we could tweak accuracy as a slider in the options for a gun. Less accurate -> more spread, More accurate -> less spread, closer to the original way guns fired.
Honestly all I want is softbody physics as an option. Oh, you hit that wing on the landing? It's bent now, have fun. Oooh, you really banged up your fuselage, hope your plane flies straight!
So uh I seriously hope we don't get matched up. When I tested my plane v. yours, when I started on the right side we crashed 4/5 times. If I started on the left side, however, we were fine. Chances are slim but you never know...
Aaaaand I think I've finally got the kinks in my plane straightened out. Just hope someone doesn't pull some secret weapon out that can do 1:43 last minute...
@EliteSteel Yes, using your own plane's successor is totally cool. It's what I've been doing for my prop racers, I think I'm up to the 84th version for this entry, and a couple other lines I have going for racing purposes.
@HBirdmanAATL I hear ya man. It also seems like the little bit of lag at the start where the AI is trying to frantically compensate for the starting momentum is also part of it.
Really though I've been looking for the plane to beat and it looks like yours fits the bill; I just wonder if I can actually make my entry fast enough to compete with this thing lol
So uh the runs I did on my computer with this plane yielded times of 2:17-18, without taking into account the missed rings (most of the time 2, sometimes 1). If you want some pointers I could help you out.
I love how you got the fuel amount so precise lol. When I was running it against my entry I was actually worried that you didn't give it enough juice to finish.
Kinda iffy on having tank treads, but hey if the devs are going in the direction of this being "simplewhateveryouwant" then I guess it'd be pretty cool.

+1@DEDSEC14 There was a dev that already responded here saying the ocean is in fact infinite
Stream is kill
Just got a relatively consistent 1:12-1:13 going
@Logotrax Yes, the label of the tournament also says "Mod class," so anything goes.
@MechWARRIOR57 A race to see who can build the fastest plane... THAT would be cool.
The race to break 0:50 begins...
Not exactly the "glider" tournament I was hoping for...
@Viperfox It'll definitely last a few rounds, since a bunch of people are entering random stuff or models. Heck, yours is one of the better one's I've seen.
@Viperfox Better get working on it then ;)

@Typhlosion130 Yea i guess I didn't actually check to see if you had done that... :P
@Typhlosion130 have you tried nudging all your engines together? Seems to work well when I do it

@Typhlosion130 Lol no I mean I want someone to break 2:10, so I can see if I can.
Huh, maybe I should get back into doing these.
2:12 is my current fastest. Looking for better.
is this still going?

@SCplanes Dang, I missed it! Oh well, good luck on the rest of your matches!
Just gonna say it right now: you've got me beat in the next round. So GG in advance.
Kinda sucks that the stream crashed when we got matched up
@Racrandall Yea that was him.
Yo dude BRuthless (ZitroneMinze is his twitch name) and I were trying to help you out. Dell's website has the downloads you need.
So uh who's ready for that tourny re-do?
@Liquidfox Nudge is love, nudge is life. But seriously I have no clue how this plane would be made without nudging the everliving balls out of it.
JustTournamentThings
When you enter a plane and are browsing the competition and realize you need to refine your plane even further and it's 11:30 pm
Dang man! Just when I thought I had a plane ready for the winner's circle, I see this 10 hours before race day. Back to the plane designer I go!
@Alienbeef0421 Sure. My entry should be on my page, the Roris-BR mk68

So has anyone else been running into the problem of their plane exploding on the right side at the start as well? Or is it just me?
90 drag points... I call hax

Starting to think that all the best planes are going to hit 1:46 and it's just going to be a competition to see who's made the most durable plane.
Randomly grabbed my last prop racer and it did the course in 1:46-8, no crashes. Gonna have to see how many seconds I can shave off that time.
Kinda iffy on having tank treads, but hey if the devs are going in the direction of this being "simplewhateveryouwant" then I guess it'd be pretty cool.
Pssst... ya shouldn't name planes like this
Made my Mac version of the game crash... First time for everything, I guess.
Don't forget being able to paint specific sections instead of just "all, primary, trim 1, etc," like a 6th option to use the cursor to paint.
Dangit! I knew I should'a entered something slower! GG man
Good luck man, hope you have better luck this time than last time we raced ;)
Does the AI for this course have a fetish for wanting to pitch down and backwards out of turns or something?
I'm tempted to enter a prop simply because of its reliability... 1:21 every day, all day. Both sides, too.
@Tully2001 It's a secret ;)
