@Baldovino So it you are confident that you have a fast jet, then really one only needs to win 2 out of 3 per callenge, which means a jet that does not crash 2 times in a row... really, we only need 66% reliability if one is confident in the speed (shhh, don't talk to a statistician about this formulae ok).
I think we're waiting on a ruling on this one and I agree with you. At the same time if others will be using this method then one must consider also using it. Also, we're talking gaining a few seconds here ans there with a hige invrease in crashes and missed rings... @DownUnderWing
@Pauciloquent @Baldovino I've been experimenting as well... 1400mph seems anout the max before it becomes seriously unpredictable for me. I also found a wierd glitch on one of my versions, basically every time you pitched it would speed up. It would hit about 2400mph going up the last mountain ans then vibrate itself to destruction. I'll upload and post a link if you like. I'm still trying to work out what the cause is and definatley mo XML modding on this one...
If you want to slow your plane down on turns, add an air break and change the input to pitch (be sure to hit the invert option as well). Then whenever it pitches up it will deploy the break. Speeding back up is the challenge, but if the plane is overpowered this will work.
Mines around 1:20 ish, but not 100% like evryone else... Its an open engine tournament but no modding so I have 2 VTOL engines embedded into each other. @Delphinus
Same has been happening to me... I was thinking that Lbthe AI was randomly rolling going into rings, but now I think its all about linung up on the centre and it will keep tweaking all the way in... When it rolls going into 10, 17 and 23 the out come is not so good! @Baldovino
Do you mind if I develop the a bit further, I'll post to you first before uploading if you like and you'll obvioulsy get credit... I have a few ideas I want to try...
@Delphinus I hear you! we're designing for the AI really... I would have thought a lot of your planes would go well, the ones with larege wing areas? Anyways I think the tournament will be interesting.
@Delphinus Yep, and I also wanted to build something that look slike a racing plane and not just an engine with wings... but I think the engine with wings seems to work best!
@SUPERSAMROCK I dont think so, I'm sure there are others out there that will beat this and then there is the 'random' factor - on certain turns if she is at the wrong angle -> crash!!! Thanks all the same
@LoadingCheese Yep, and I left those off and again due to trying to stream line it... didnt really work in the end :) I'll probably redo this one with all the propser features I reckon.
@Shmexysmpilot Its just too fast and complicated I think, and I wont be using it... I have completed the course a few times with it, but missing rings etc.
Ok, a couple of steps here. You need to detach your entire wing away from the main body. Identify a pivot point for where you want the wing to rotate around and add the rotator. The simplet way is to nudge the main fuselage parts away from the plane, eg. Donwards, and create enough soace where you can attach the rotator and wing without it touching any other part x2. Nudge the body back into poisition and test. Be mindful that if you are moving parts through a fuselage it really only works well when its moving through one part, not many. Hope this makes sense.
@Danillio Thanks, sorry that its made for the tournament, so some features (including landing gear) are not installed, and a number of other non-authentic features added like pitch (up only) thrust vectoring, stacked wings, 6xVTOL engines, ugly air intakes under the wings...
@Baldovino You would think so... but then, the AI? right... so if your 2 crashes in 100 occured consecutively during a race then you are out!
This is actually epic and I hope it makes it to the all time top... totally amazing concepts, design and execution...

How cool is this, and that suspension!!!!!b
I love everything about this!!!
The weapon bays are absolutley top notch!
@Stampede Thanks - I'm already in CoFFe Clan
Thanks @Yologuy2000
Thanks, Yes! Would like it to walk fatser and will work on that soemtime. @WalrusAircraft

Nice
Just wow!
@AndrewGarrison Thanks, fun to build :)
Yep, I'm getting about the same. I'm wanting to get under 1min, just to do it, but will likley go with a slower jet... @Baldovino
Thanks for the clarification Andrew @AndrewGarrison
Guys, has there been a ruling on VTOL engines needing to be attached to the plane? (I havn't seen one to date but may have missed it)
Nice, have you managed to getbun 1min as yet? @Baldovino

@Plasma Yay on the points!
@Plasma Sure thing
Well done, this was a tough one!
@Plasma
Well done!
Good luck by the way! @SpiritusRaptor

I'm joking, but it sometimes seems that way... Everythings working ok, change ghe colour and then it all goes to shit! :) @Pauciloquent
@Baldovino Did you change the colour? I find even changing the paint work will through everything out!

@Redlord Thanks :)
@NIGHTWING1 Hahaha... yep
@ColonelJohn110 Feel free to make you own.
@ronyseptian17 Not sure, have you tested? I think if a part of your plane touches the water you are out... but worth checking...

@DarkLithium
@sheepsblood Thats the important thing!

Not happy with either of these and going back to the drawing board!!!

:) thanks @WalrusAircraft
You and me both! @CarlosDanger13
Sorry, embedded wings into it... Take a look @XxcreedexX
Did you see how the eyes roll? @JShay
