Thats an awesome build.
And here's a story bout that failure.
Not only it has an uncontained engine failure on engine 3 but one of the 4 engines have been smh in problem. And the mechanics of OA tell to the captain (Thats Sifis Migadis which sadly passed away years ago) and tell him not use 100% and use only 95-96% of its power (engine 2 has been smh unhealthy)
And it lose 4,500lb of thrust due to engine 3 and the problem with engine 2.
That crew of OA411 they have been experienced (which in any airliner back at time its hard to find).
Migadis and Kostas Fikardos (first officer of this flight and closest friend of Sifis. Also not in live) is for my country ..The..National Heroes in the Greek Aviation History.
If they didnt land it and crashed.
That will be the most fatal accident of all the years in Greece.
But that crew they save alot of of people from that accident.
And thats why OA has been with a great safety record (with only 7 fatal accidents) .
And that Airline got perished by old prime ministers and their minions in 2009. And its now Olympic Air....
I hate when they do a great airline and they perish it 52 years after its founding and they re-open it with an another name. Its weird alot...
not bad build ya made
if you wanna know what happened to OA. I Will tell it.
Welp .it got screwed up. To much debts and the Airline has been to the hands of political members. they worsen up until in 2009 they rename it to Olympic Air and its fleet is only ATRs and Dash 8s. And now.? stills available despite Aegean (an another Greek Airliner) has 17% of its stake and the rest 83 to the company itself. (you can even check wikipedia for more of that as i say a bit bout the fall of one of the greatest Airliners that has been with a very low record in aircraft accidents (here's link for the Olympic Air : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_Air ) and as a greek. I can comfirm that its a shame to the country and full of disgrace that they worsen up a good airliner of my country (u can ask some greek people bout the story of the Olympic Airways.even me i can ask it.but its very complicated)..
Btw you build it great.
Ps: I would like to see a BAe 146 with the livery of the bankrupted Astra Airlines (an another Airliner from Greece.Bankrupted due to debts)
Not only this guy has been famous in WW2 .
In my country we have a Fletcher Destroyer Class .
The H/S Velos (Arrow in english).
it has been in missions between 1964 till 1987.
And that has been former in USA as USS Charrette.
Anyways great build.🫡
Nice build my friend. The livery its good enough.
And Speakin bout OA (Short for Olympic Airways). The Skyvan has been in the OA from the 60s all the way to the 2018 (from its og name all the way to the rename to Olympic Air). Its use.?
Operate at small airports with rough gravel paved runways (back at the time greece (my country tbh) had some airports that doesnt have Tarmac paved ones) cus greece has need to be improved in Airports. They order 4 of them to be operate even in an Airport without tarmac paved runways. They have them even when Olympic Airways change is name from the Olympic Airways.to the same name but the Airways without the last word on it.And sadly. They Retired all the 4 Skyvans in 2018 .they have them for almost 48 years Which for me is a major mistake to retire such an great aircraft with history in the Greek Aviation. Now Olympic Air opperates with ATRs and Dash 8s only.(which in other words.it does flights all around Greece and not outside Greece like the Old OA does it once an upon time).anyways thats all who i need to say.I wish to u to make another Aircrafts that Olympic Airways have em back when OA has been OA .Like the Yak-40 (Cus greece even used to have an Soviet Aircraft) or the YS-11.End my comment here.Greetings from my country 🇬🇷 and keep do such good builds..👍
Good Job my friend.i always love the 747s.
specially with that livery.well.here's a good story bout with OA (Olympic Airways in short).
Olympic Airways before they change their HQ to LGAV (cuz the old HQ has been on Hellinikon Airport (IATA code : LGAT) in 2001).3 Boeing 747s has been on their fleet.
1st is Olympic Spirit then Olympic Peace and last Olympic Eagle.they have been in operation from mid late 60's till 2001 when they left LGAT to go on LGAV .what happen those 3 747s of Olympic Airways.?? sadly they left them to rust and gypsies stole everything on the cockpit (from Gyroscopes till speed meters).i feel sad when those 3 747s they left them instead to have them operational.my country sucks tho (yeah.im greek guy that know Olympic Airways smh).but great job for makin that 747 with Olympic Air Livery.bravo . :)
