  • Questions! 1.5 years ago

@windshifter1 When you create a mod, there is a feature that allows you to add other users as contributors. You and all the other's you've listed will receive points when the mod receives upvotes.

This is exclusive to mod posts. You can't do this on aircraft posts.

  • Questions! 1.5 years ago

1: No, but this would be a neat feature. I actually made a suggestion post about this a while back.
2: Green is for curators. People with this rank take VR planes and curate them so that they can be used by VR players.

  • GOOD and HELPFULL suggestions for update 1.5 years ago

@winterro That is true, mainly because the capacity on the existing servers would almost always be full.
But that's also assuming plenty of people have a robust computer laying around that they'd be willing to dedicate to running a server 24/7.

  • GOOD and HELPFULL suggestions for update 1.5 years ago

To add on, I fully support removing the rotator joint wobble. In fact, I'd like to see the same for pistons and shocks.
Making custom landing gear for heavy aircraft is somewhat of a pain, especially when half of the aircraft's mass is in the landing gear just to prevent joint wobble.

An XML property to disable it would also work.

  • GOOD and HELPFULL suggestions for update 1.5 years ago

Multiplayer is indeed possible to run on mobile devices (as demonstrated by Steam Link), but we only have 2-3 functional public servers at the moment.
There is absolutely no way integrated multiplayer will be feasible until we get more dedicated servers to handle so many players. The main one struggles with 10 people being connected, so there's no way it could handle 30+ on a regular basis.

If that problem was fixed though, multiplayer integration would definitely be feasible. Device strength is a limiting factor, but like you said, mobile devices are becoming stronger and more capable.

  • Some Parts that would be nice 1.5 years ago

I'd like to see some rocket engines (not for rockets, but for spaceplanes and such).
Nothing crazy, no procedural stuff necessary, just some simple rocket engines that act like such.
Missiles are a bit questionable when it comes to their physics, so using them as rocket engines can be problematic.

  • WZ-8 1.5 years ago

Not bad for your first build!

One thing I will say is that you should move the landing gear as close as possible to the Center Of Mass. It allows for better takeoff/landing performance.

  • Do you listen to music while building? 1.5 years ago

I transition between synthwave and cinematic music (Hans Zimmer, Scott Buckley, Secession Studios, etc.) I also occasionally put on a cinematic in the background.

    Here's one of my favorites:
Emotional Tech Noir Music - The Machine

Cinematic music is really good for getting the creative thoughts flowing in my opinion.

I almost got to ride in a WW2 aircraft (forgot what, probably a B-25 or something similar), but it ended up crashing due to pilot error before I could go on a flight.

  • NEED HELP!! (I say this a lot ??) 1.5 years ago

There's a nice tutorial here for making custom airfoils.

If making the wings this way is still too hard, and you don't mind a simpler look, what I do is start with a fuselage shell, cut the control surfaces out and add rotators, and then fit individual wing pieces (0% thickness) into each section of the fuselage-wing shell.

If that didn't make any sense, you can use one of my builds to see what I mean.
The method I use isn't as time or part efficient, but it works quite well in my opinion.

  • I need motivation... 1.5 years ago

I'd suggest sticking to no more than 1-2 projects at a time.
Trying to take on several at once can be overwhelming.
Once your finished with one project, move to the next.

    @Red920 Did you disable Activate8?
If it doesn't cobra regardless, then try adjusting the values.
If it still doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

  • Helb 1.5 years ago

@Red920 The code below is based on what I normally use. You may need to modify some of the values for your own needs.

  • Helb 1.5 years ago

@Red920 Hmm. Alright, let me rewrite the code:

    Pitch-(PitchRate*0.01)-((AngleOfAttack/30)*clamp01(Activate8))+(Roll*0.1)

    See if this works.

  • (Tutorial) The Basics Of Creating Digital Flight Displays Using Text Labels: 1.5 years ago

@Miata Fuel: {round(Fuel)*100}% should work (it shows the fuel as a percentage, not as a unit value).

  • Helb 1.5 years ago

@Red920 And probably do the same for the Roll input as well.
The * symbols are multiplying the AoA limiter by the Pitch/Roll control inputs, meaning that if you aren't giving any input the limiter won't work.

  • Helb 1.5 years ago

@Red920 Try using a + instead of a * between the AoA limiter and the PitchRate limiter.

  • (Tutorial) The Basics Of Creating Digital Flight Displays Using Text Labels: 1.5 years ago

@Miata Multiply the speed value by 3.6 for kp/m and 2.2369362921 for mi/h.
