Oh. My. God. This makes the most beautiful engine sound I’ve ever heard in SimplePlanes. Not to mention the fact that the fan looks and spins amazingly as well. If you'd allow me to, I’d like to make a 100-200 part version and put it on a plane.
@BaconAircraft thanks, that’s very helpful. The spoilers actually also have to go to 60° when the plane is on the ground, but I think I can figure out the code for that.
@PlaneFlightX thanks for the suggestion! If it doesn’t add too many parts, I’ll probably do that. (although it does add up to 44 fan blades) Also, the sound of the propeller is definitely a little out of place on a GE90.
@KendJello one way you could improve performance is by setting the “calculate drag” XML attribute to false on most parts. The performance cost won’t go down, but it should give the game an easier time with the physics simulation.
Amazing plane btw! Very few airliners have such a detailed cockpit and a beautiful livery/exterior as well.
@NaziParty Er… I haven’t touched it in a few months. The main thing that held it back from being released last summer was the artificial horizon. If I find a way to solve those problems and people seem to want the plane, I would consider working on it in the first half of this year.
@GalacticaAsia thanks for the advice and sorry for taking so long to reply. I originally had a similar setup to your A330 where the back was weighted to cause the tilt. I have since added a spring and piston per the advice of PlaneFlightX and it works pretty nicely. I’ll definitely be looking out for your control base method when you post it though. Sounds interesting!
Nice detailed aircraft. I appreciate that you took the time to make all the gear doors open to have the gear retract into an actual opening in the aircraft. (Most people don’t do this) The aircraft is a bit tricky to handle, but a little bit of XML could fix that. Overall, cool build!
@fleia262 here is the link to a pdf Boeing published. On page 20/21 there are ortho drawings of the -200 and -300. They helped me a lot with getting the basic shape of the aircraft, but you may need to find pictures of you want to have more detail. Also, this is the link if you want other Boeing models. I haven’t checked these, but they should have decent drawings. Hope this helps!
Cool! I actually just started making a 777-200 a couple of weeks ago. If you would like some blueprints for the basic shape, I’d be glad to give them to you.
Nice touch that you decided to make all the shuttles! Also cool that you included details like the gear not being retractable and the air brake
+1Nicceee
+1Would you count a Shorts 360 as a stol plane?
+1@LM0418
+1Very detailed. Creative use of parts for the fan blades too!
+1Nice! adds a lot more life to the airport after dark
+1@Mal0ne phew! 😅 Don’t know if I’ll be able to run the high part version, but I’m excited nonetheless
+1Very detailed and pretty! Only thing is it guzzles fuel like there’s no tomorrow
+1Wowww! This is one of the most detailed GA aircraft I’ve ever seen!
+1This is my favorite dinosaur!! And it’s in SP! This is an amazing day!
+1Awesome
+1Nice build!
+1Also, I had no idea you could change the instruction text colors
This has got to be one of the best DC-8s out there! There aren’t many builds with such detailed liveries also
+1daaaaaaammmn
+1Holy Flaps! I love it.
+1Maybe you could use a small block/fuselage to connect the wheel and shock together
+1Your planes just keep getting better. Keep up the good work!
+1Brooooom Broooom
+1The tutorial videos work great for learning the controls for the VR cockpit. I love the built-in checklist as well!
+1Amazing! It’s a chonky boi too, larger than the GE9X.
+1The airfoil shape and gear doors are perfect!!
+1:0 Amazing
+1Yo, that’s kinda crazy
+1great build
+1those gauges be looking nice

+1Congrats to all the other participants and thank you to @KyonIndustries for making this challenge!
+1Great job! It handles very well and looks great as well.
+1Also, how did you get the rudder to work so well?
Looks clean!
+1tiny wings
+1It’s nice to see a livery that doesn’t rely on text boxes. Great job!
+1Awesome job!
+1Interesting thumbnail…

+1Nice!
+1Nice to see a high-quality livery!
+1Cool, I had that too

+1Nice plane, but it needs instructions

+1Great level of detail, inside and out!

+1@PlaneFlightX– Thanks, that works quite well! I should have known by now that your SWL-120 has a similar feature.

+1Hi @Vincent, could you please make this post a successor to this (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/YbIuoU/Christmas-Challenge-OPEN) challenge? Thank you
+1Great build!
