@bspboy what do you mean which part? that's how much weight your wings are taking and that is perfectly fine. you should just adjust your control surfaces.
@f1racing6 a compeditive time would be at least 1:30 seconds. if you want to really win. push the 1:10 mark and try to get something that can do that at least 90% of the time.
@bspboy yes that part. just make it large. also some times. moving your center of lift helps. and make sure that ALL of your wings are set to symmetrical. flat bottm and semi make it slightly pitch up or down. that really helps for the AI.
also try to check your wing load. should be 25 at most.
@Dogemaster67 start at bandit air port. find the string if tiny islands leading north of that location. and follow them to snow stone island. fly to the airfield and you should get it.
@bspboy then again my XP-1 also has the same time... I need to do some testing to see which one I should be using. this one seems to make its corners by a safer margin.
@Tully2001 which by the way I took a look at your design. you're going to have to build bigger if you want to try to cut down on your time. right now what you got isn't particularly bad. its just too small.
@PikeovlevPlanes there is a tab labled stuff at the top of hte page. you see tournaments there. it says the dead line.
"Must be an original (ie - not a predecessor of ANOTHER player's plane)"
@EnderWiggin " Don't try and use the new XML attributes for this tournament, we will be checking for those. (mass scale, part scale, power multiplier, etc)"
@Liquidfox no not really. all you have to do is add a large struceral wing base and then put that other wing on the end of it. and if worst comes to worst. add a new large wing to that flat section right behind the cockpit and bend it down to the other wings.
@WalrusManufacturingCO well if you want to get better start by making sure your wing load (you can check under air craft properties) is low. 15-25 is a good area.
@Generalkeath the problem with your jets is that your wing load is too high. try doubling up your wings and looking at the wing load. try to get it down to 30 at least. 15-25 is optimal
@metalsaurus if you look in the tournaments menu. it shows how long you have to enter a plane. its gennerally done on a sunday or monday. next sunday or monday.
@Sunnyskies that's why I've limited my aircraft design to generally 1000mph max. any thing faster and those 2 areas just destroy any thing I try to put through them. I'm betting on reliability of finishing with a good enough time here.
@Dogemaster67 if you want to be safe. keep your aircraft's general top speed at about 1000mph or less (turning included). I haven't been able to get a very fast plane through the sketchy corners.
@Dogemaster67 its a bit of a technical course. I'd say if your plane can get through the hard parts of bandit run and typhoon circut you should be good. just make sure it can roll and turn at the same time quite good in AI control.
@bspboy what else would the "control surface" be?
@bspboy focus on getting it to finish first :U

@bspboy 1:13
@bspboy another engine won't fix your crashing. it will just make it harder to stop :P
@jpower you will have to aim the jets to face the rear by default or you will just fly straight up.
@JovianPat well yea. its the same tournament. you should be ready.
@Tagger you'll want to take at least 30 seconds off that time.
@picy its not called yeti island and if you want to know where it is. start at bandit airport and follow the string of islands just north of it.
I just checked the races and apparently the right lane is bugged... are we going to be re running the tournament or just moving on?>
@Flightsonic its under the new XML modding options unfortunately.. so no you can't for this one.
@OtterOfToast Honestly It doesn't take all that long to make a race plane for these. to make the perfect one sure but a good enough one not too long.
@lordverminaard some times. reliabliity wins. remember the dare devil tournament?
@Tully2001 which by the way I took a look at your design. you're going to have to build bigger if you want to try to cut down on your time. right now what you got isn't particularly bad. its just too small.
@Tully2001 if its the best you can do just do it.
@PikeovlevPlanes there is a tab labled stuff at the top of hte page. you see tournaments there. it says the dead line.
"Must be an original (ie - not a predecessor of ANOTHER player's plane)"
@Sunnyskies oh yea i remember dare devil... I'm still salty over that one...
@Liquidfox this is a jet engine body with a cock pit and slight tail on the cock pit. I told you you can do a lot.
@Liquidfox This is a good example of what you can do with an engine body.
@GrumpyRacing yea 1:05 may win but only if it is reliable enough. I haven't seen any thing be too reliable under 1:10
I think I got a winner on my hands (or at least a really competitive entry)
@tully2001 what do you think of this?
@EnderWiggin " Don't try and use the new XML attributes for this tournament, we will be checking for those. (mass scale, part scale, power multiplier, etc)"
@GrumpyRacing I've actually got a good plane right now that is quite reliable and fast.
@foxythegamer12 well of course. it doesn't matter when it was made. just as long as it follows the rules.
I really hope that once we hit the dragon race that it is not modded. I have a perfect plane for it.
@Liquidfox reason I know this is because when those new engines came out I did a lot of testing with a minimal design using that engine as the body.
@Liquidfox no not really. all you have to do is add a large struceral wing base and then put that other wing on the end of it. and if worst comes to worst. add a new large wing to that flat section right behind the cockpit and bend it down to the other wings.
@Liquidfox not bad. but keep pushing it :D
@WalrusManufacturingCO well if you want to get better start by making sure your wing load (you can check under air craft properties) is low. 15-25 is a good area.
@WalrusManufacturingCO well you shouldn't focus on speed. you should focus on completion time. which right now 1:25 is a lower end competitive time.
@WalrusManufacturingCO what do you mean maybe? haven't you tested it?
@WalrusManufacturingCO 800mph is SLOW as crap. you need to go faster and be maneuverable.
@WalrusManufacturingCO the name of the tournament is the track :/
@Quintasoarus how reliable is it?
@Generalkeath the problem with your jets is that your wing load is too high. try doubling up your wings and looking at the wing load. try to get it down to 30 at least. 15-25 is optimal
@InterStellarENT if you don't know where the tournament window is how did you even get here? (its under stuff btw)
@metalsaurus if you look in the tournaments menu. it shows how long you have to enter a plane. its gennerally done on a sunday or monday. next sunday or monday.
@AnonymousUser99 that... is very slow :U
@GepatII what plane are you using? I could help.
@Generalkeath well propellers top out at those speeds any ways. you need to build a jet to go faster.
@Sunnyskies well I've tested my version. and in every test (and while testing against other aircraft I'm developing) it hasn't crashed once.
@Sunnyskies that's why I've limited my aircraft design to generally 1000mph max. any thing faster and those 2 areas just destroy any thing I try to put through them. I'm betting on reliability of finishing with a good enough time here.
