been a long time since I played this game, happen to notice the update, and now there's a tournament. honestly, I'm way too rusty to even attempt to put a real entry in, and even then this was my absolute worst course for vehicles when I was still good. gonna put a joke entry in. maybe it'll get a few rounds in. who knows.
@TifftheCat now that you mention it I See the rebelliousness but no. I was more so going to see what I could do if I spammed the smallest engine on a plane. and this came out.
looks good flies well. overal a nice craft.
would suggest you add a fixed nose landing gear if you're going to have fixed rear.
and it's rockets will make it explode.
i'd have to say I'm impressed. I downloaded this not expecting much and it actually handles pretty decently. a bit stiff and unmanuverable. perhaps turn up the strenght of the gyro but its pretty good.
@littleman06 Basically what I've done is I removed all the deadweight you put on. (its not needed and will just make your wing load worse) changed all the wings to structural with control surfaces. no more flexing wings. made a slight astetic adjustment behind the vtol engine up top and the rear elevators. and shifted the center of lift some. basically the same as yours except slight astetic changes and now it flies and turns with out flipping out.
For a plane that you didn't quite know what you're doing. Its okay. ther are a number of improvemnts you could make however which will apply to every build you ever make.
I'll upload an improved vesrion tommorow (when the limit for daily uploads resets) which will still look a lot like this but be built more properly.
but for now, key thing you did wrong is added dead weight. you tried to balance the plance to your center of lift. you should be balancing your wings for your center of mass. this means removing all dead weight and fuel. putting the centero f lift a bit behind mass. then filling it up with fuel with out moving mass too far from where it is normally.
secondly is wing loading. you just need to make your wings bigger. not wider, you don't need more wingspan. I just mean bigger wings which connect to hte plane further on its lenght. this goes for all wings. but don't go too extreme.
you can also always check your wing load by opening the menu and hittin the information button. (that i in the circle). wing loading is put simply. how much weight your wings hold. bigger wings have lower wing load. this is good. means you turn faster and fly more stable.
Looks pretty decent for a basic build. not bad. but should probably work on the wing load and vertical stability. looks like it'll be easy to flat spin by simply rolling and pitching though... with that wing load not sure if it will even be able to pitch much.
@septicfoot weaponizing is easy... rows of wing guns on the inner wing.. missiles attatched under the thick base wing. I just didnt see a need to upload a weaponized version.
@RenxBlake at the very least my current glider which is a normal non glitch using one tops over 500mph so not far off 600.
at the same time yes it gets under 3 minutes. no glitches or any thing. just pure adding weight and keeping the wing load low.
@Baldovino I'm not sure how you'll do that in this one... AG8 is off. throttles are set to 0. and I have no idea how you'll get the AI to fly the thing right if you set it to elevator or roll controls
@Baldovino yea I know. tbh would be much better if it wasn't a glider tournament. much better with jets over any thing else as that has more to do with plane handling rather than min-maxing every detail.
@Baldovino here's the issue. I'm at my peak right now. I lowered my drag to as minimum as I possibly could which now sits at 66 I think... I've added weight. wings. etc... thing is I'm an average skill builder. there's just something the winning designs are doing that I'm not getting nor am able to replicate. So I'm going to stick with my 1:54 average time because well... I can't improve beyond that as far as my testing and trying has been going.
I figure I'll do average... hopefully make it into the quarter finals if I don't meet @Baldovino or some one else with a winning/almost winning design.
@LiamW actually its basically the same thing. except I have the hinge on the wheel, not the bottom of the suspension block. this keeps it relatively vertical in game not that I think that maters any more.
@LiamW I'll try those on new builds. this is the last one of this I'm putting up. put simply its a cool idea but these things just don't perform on player and AI front like otehr things could.
@Mozfoo I suppose that would be fine yea. Go ahead

@Tully2001 I know that, but having access to the same system the game devs do to just have it set up and automated would be a nice addition.
@TifftheCat now that you mention it I See the rebelliousness but no. I was more so going to see what I could do if I spammed the smallest engine on a plane. and this came out.
@Mustang51 thanks
pretty unique design. first time I've seen that done.
+1Could use bigger wings. 75lbs wing load is terrible.
try making the front wings bigger. as in, front to back bigger.
looks good flies well. overal a nice craft.

the inner base wing area should be muuuch longer and slope into the front of the craft.
also you uploaded it twice. you should probably take down the second one.
Great looking craft
GG @Baldovino
got eliminated on the second round. wasn't expecting much any how.
+1@KillaDanDaMan yea i know. Its just that its getting excessive how lixh weight and wings im adding
@KillaDanDaMan already replaced ith with something with 17 drag points but its barely faster. So not sure what to do.
Looks pretty decent for a basic build. not bad. but should probably work on the wing load and vertical stability. looks like it'll be easy to flat spin by simply rolling and pitching though... with that wing load not sure if it will even be able to pitch much.
@septicfoot decided to do it any how I guess.
@septicfoot weaponizing is easy... rows of wing guns on the inner wing.. missiles attatched under the thick base wing. I just didnt see a need to upload a weaponized version.
Thanks though
you probably should have a vertical stabilizer. will flat spin constantly other wise.
@ModularCorporation can you link it specifically?
@RenxBlake at the very least my current glider which is a normal non glitch using one tops over 500mph so not far off 600.

@Generalkeath thats more or less all that ever happens with me lol. I've come close a couple of times though.
@Baldovino I'm not going to win. Though, that actually doesn't explain much XD
@Baldovino then I'm confused... because I can't see hwo to make any of the rotators work unless you have some sort of input like vtol or what ever.
+1@Baldovino ok but don't you still need some sort of input to make them move?
@Baldovino I'm not sure how you'll do that in this one... AG8 is off. throttles are set to 0. and I have no idea how you'll get the AI to fly the thing right if you set it to elevator or roll controls
there are ways to improve this but good to see you seem to understand how to clip props into a plane and make it work.
@atgxtg when you hit share plane just change it from public to unlisted. enter it in the tournament. when it starts it will become listed.
@Baldovino yea I know. tbh would be much better if it wasn't a glider tournament. much better with jets over any thing else as that has more to do with plane handling rather than min-maxing every detail.

@Chancey21 I'm guessing your entry uses detatchers and counter weights to do a sort of 'power launch' or something?
Getting back into the groove of things I think I got a half decent entry for this one
@Pilotcal7 well you obviously didn't use it.
@LiamW yea i know. But this is simple planes. Things work that shouldnt!
@LiamW and linking it like this makes the camber much less severe
@LiamW actually its basically the same thing. except I have the hinge on the wheel, not the bottom of the suspension block. this keeps it relatively vertical in game not that I think that maters any more.
@LiamW ohhh. ok lol. I just accidentally made this on my MK3 remake. didn't realize thtat is what it was called.
@LiamW sounds like fun. and could you post an example of the single link suspension/mention me on a build that uses it?
@LiamW I'll try those on new builds. this is the last one of this I'm putting up. put simply its a cool idea but these things just don't perform on player and AI front like otehr things could.
@marcox43 yea life came up so I wasn't playing. but I'm back and am building a bit. getting back into the flow of things.
@marcox43 been a while, hasn't it?
I mean, it looks pretty cool
wouldn't really call it a delta but it works and looks cool
I mean... all you did was attach rockets to some one elses plane... any one can do that, no offence.
you know there is a mirror function.
