@Unstable also I would advice looking at some videos of the track. better help you that way any how. just remember. this track is more open to speed than daredevil. its just that one knife edge early on that sucks.
@Unstable unfotrunatly it is abit required you do testing. if your pitch is too strong you over steer after the first drop and the AI starts using roll commands almost garunteeing you a doom to the inital knife edge.
Wouldn't work any how for the glider tournament. the glider race specifically has throttle set to 0 and the AI doens't use action groups or other forms of activating this thing any how.
@tully2001 Ok now you have me confused. I've been pushing the limits of speed on iarcraft. at this point its not a point of reliability its a point of how the hell did you get 55 seconds when the best I can pull is 59 on one of the fastest non modded planes I have?
@Unstable you start in the air. the first part is a decent into a climb. where you go into a straight away. into the hardest part of the track. knife edging the pyramid. after that it is easy and the faster you can make your plane the better. the AI could probably do it at 5000mph. its just that one part that will kill you.
@Thesimpleplanesman has trouble landing? no race in the game requires the plane to land that aside if you have landing gear that is uneeded drag and weight because this race starts in the air.
1: pitch is a bit to strong. it takes the inital drop good but it over does it a bit forcing a slight roll into a wing crash into the pyramid.
2: not fast enough. stack 5 engines inside that bitch.
@EarthwormJim good thing this isn't modded then. I feared that if it was I would have to go mod instead of trying to over power mod with out mod for fun :P
one problem this race will have against mobile users is the inability to test the track ONLY because of the very tight spot at the beginning of it. the rest is easy and you could go 5000mph or something idk. just that one tight spot which really pushes your design to be stable early on.
@Delphinus I hope you know I was joking. aside one tight spot in the very beginning (going through the pyramid) this track is more open to speed than daredevil even was. push your speed limitations but make sure you can make it through the pyramid. (that said considering the fact you're asking you can't test it so I suggest you build something that is very stable or quite small for that part)
@jfriss I suggest you look at the tournament guide. when you see "unlimited class" in the thumbnail of a tournament and it says unlimited for the class as the first thing in the description. it means all parts are allowed to be used but XLM modding is not allowed.
Props mean the samething except no jets allowed only up to date prop engines.
and modded class will allow all modding.
@Delphinus well that depends. a safe speed would be any thing fairly slow.
but if you do testing and such to get through the one tight spot at the beginning of the track then you could safely go at up to 2000mph or more.
@bspboy its not. its just that the lowest size engine can be fitted in a body that has a lot less drag. when it comes to props in the end its about having enough engines and then as close to 0 drag as possible.
ah updating the old girl eh?
To this day your engine segment there (modified by me) still creates and holds my personal best plane I own. (aside my tournament entry but that was mostly a gift not my own pure design)
@AudioDud3 I was having a conversation with a guy about another race track the dragon and about the missed ring bug and then some one took my listed top speed as the top speed of a prop plane in this race and then a few peopel got that idea and I have been having to explain that.
and secondly no not really. because the same goes for roll. except in distance traveled. if you go 100 feet with full roll. you'll roll the same ammount no matter how fast you're going. so in reality. speed is just speed. and the only thing that changes is how much time the AI has to react. which is your only limitation (aside props in this tournament) so really. go as fast as you can until the AI can't react.
@Thederpingmemes you don't seem to fully understand SP physics do you? you have the same turning circle no matter how fast you're going. what changes your maneuverability is your wing load.
@Thederpingmemes for a start that last statment was refferencing my conversation I was having with some one else about another race track called the dragon. which I'm assuming he dind't realize when I mentioned the top speed of my one jet I built for it.
Secondly no. its not one or the other its both. fast and manuverable. or you lose.
@SemedianIndustries how what? if you're reffing to the plane speed its not a plane for this tournament. its a jet I built for the dragon. another race track.
@marcox43 2:02. I hold past 400mph since around the half way point.
@JMicah4 I would gladly tell you but I feel like I could win this tournament so its a secret.
@JMicah4 @Visify Dunno bout you guys but I'm finishing with times of 2:02
@EarthwormJim 5
@marcox43 so it seems I have some competition. my most recent prototype has reached 2:07. Good luck to you then.
@AudioDud3 that said I am continuing to improve. I've figured out the strategy to all this. which I will not give away as I want to win for once
@AudioDud3 its a joke man. learn to take one :u
@AudioDud3 I have a glider that finishes in 2:17 get on my level
@Unstable also I would advice looking at some videos of the track. better help you that way any how. just remember. this track is more open to speed than daredevil. its just that one knife edge early on that sucks.

@Viperfox did you not read the rules?
1: pitch is a bit to strong. it takes the inital drop good but it over does it a bit forcing a slight roll into a wing crash into the pyramid.
2: not fast enough. stack 5 engines inside that bitch.
@Tully2001 depends. is it reliable? and not modded?
@EarthwormJim good thing this isn't modded then. I feared that if it was I would have to go mod instead of trying to over power mod with out mod for fun :P
you know just a quick tip. instead of commenting on one of my builds. type my name in here like @typhlosion130 and ill see it.
@MeetThyDoom to get this course you want to fly inside the giant pyramid ontop of the one mountain area. not far from the wind farm.
@MeetThyDoom start at Wright island. head south following islands. (not the island that has all the car tracks and stuff)
By the way. I'm going to set the stakes high early on. the time to beat is 1:00-1:02
@Tully2001 all the jets are stable so long as you build around them right.
@septicfoot sing in the tune of I can see clearly now
"I can smell colors now the drugs have kicked in"
@Tully2001 you'll never go fast enough with just those tho :U
Now this is going to be an interesting tournament. I built a glider once. one time to see what I can do...
one problem this race will have against mobile users is the inability to test the track ONLY because of the very tight spot at the beginning of it. the rest is easy and you could go 5000mph or something idk. just that one tight spot which really pushes your design to be stable early on.
@Tully2001 how so?
@BritishNarwhal7 they did this last time with a tournament when the track was on maywar island.
@Delphinus I hope you know I was joking. aside one tight spot in the very beginning (going through the pyramid) this track is more open to speed than daredevil even was. push your speed limitations but make sure you can make it through the pyramid. @Meltingvenus1999 how would I know?
@AgDynamics this is the only tournament so far that a plane using an exploit won. unless you count nudging as an exploit.
@AndrewGarrison the dragon on unlimited class for next tournament? :D
@bspboy its not. its just that the lowest size engine can be fitted in a body that has a lot less drag. when it comes to props in the end its about having enough engines and then as close to 0 drag as possible.
@Alienbeef0421 HAAAAX (lol not really but i'm screwed XD)
ah updating the old girl eh?
To this day your engine segment there (modified by me) still creates and holds my personal best plane I own. (aside my tournament entry but that was mostly a gift not my own pure design)
@Baldovino simple. you're lieing there is a jet inside that thing. you just part scaled it down to be invisible in the image.
either that or you're expereinceing the flapping wing bug.
@AudioDud3 I was having a conversation with a guy about another race track the dragon and about the missed ring bug and then some one took my listed top speed as the top speed of a prop plane in this race and then a few peopel got that idea and I have been having to explain that.
@Thederpingmemes
you're*

@SemedianIndustries how what? if you're reffing to the plane speed its not a plane for this tournament. its a jet I built for the dragon. another race track.
@EarthwormJim also I'd like to mention. when I say my craft is fast. I mean it hist 1591mph at sea level.
@EarthwormJim yea but when you do these tournaments you build these craft custom built and all. that track is more open to speed than even daredevil.
@jamesPLANESii its also called nudging.
@EarthwormJim well in my plane I have designed (and been improving) for the dragon I never once got the missed bug and the thing is very fast.
@EarthwormJim AI flies better than most people in most situations honestly. Its just a very simple AI system that is trying to work on all planes.
@Alienbeef0421 well the TC-9 seems to be your better plane so why not use it?
also we already did lunar arc. I want the dragon.
