@CALVIN232 any graphical settings do not matter. just that one.
Regaurdless. I have tested this thing. it does not turn any where near good enough. I don't know what you're talking about.
@marcox43 you know that jump on the left there? in jump zone? the left wing clipped on its way to the semi final ring. and it crashed. (ok when I say clipped. I mean over half its wing smashed into it and the whole thing crashed)
@marcox43 Test 1: did fine. crashed into the ground at the semi final ring.
Test 2: nose dived into the gorund at ring 4
test 3: wing cliped the jump on the left right before ring 3 causing the whole plane to crash into it
Test 4: Missed ring 3 for some reason. Smashed into the ground before the smei final ring off that loop. harder this time (cockpit phased through the ground and was in the water in the island in fact)
Test 5: finished the course at 39 seconds barly not crashing into the ground going from the semi final to final ring.
@marcox43 it is the same 600mph as it was before. way to fast. it is very unstable you have a twerking plane in the AI hands. it tends to nose down and crash when trying to turn for some reason. just plent yof problems.
ok so I just gave this a test. and the problem you're facing is. its too fast. the AI can not correct the roll fast enough to match how fast you're going through this course.
@AviownCorp its an action group that is on by default normal. usually would not be a problem. but what that means is some one can build a giant shrapnel bomb out of parts and launch and kill their opponent as soon as a round starts if they wanted too if it was on by defualt. or they could do some cheap out tactics such as launch their plane to full speed from the ground instantly with them. lots of crazy stuff.
@mikoyanster the key to victory is very fast and responsive control surfaces. the faster you can start a full pitch and roll the better. and the faster that roll/pitch rate is. the better.
@MeetThyDoom no that's correct. the AI simply just uses 100% throttle and flies through every thing no holds bar. if your'e going to fast. then you have too much engine power. this tournament in particular you really have to control that engine power.
@MrSev you find it. its on the car based island. with the gold prix race track. and the jump area and such. the race its self is marked by all the pylons sticking up on the island.
@Stingray what are you talking about? you have to find it. its on the car based island behind wright air port. you should see a ton of pylons sticking up out of the place. which marks the course.
@Tully2001 I wouldn't be so sure. every time any where under 40 seconds has had major reliability problems and ring skipping. (meaning it wouldn't count as 30 seconds XD)
@CrazyBrick15 the very old engines before 1.2 update of the game. they behaved more like weak jet engines. meaning if you spammed them you could get super sonic speeds on a prop. go check the first prop based tournament to see that.
So I've just built a new version of a plane to enter this tournament. some how... putting 6 propellers on its 2 engines instead of its old 2... hasn't made it any faster.
@PlanesOfOld honestly in this race. the atributes you want to go for. are very responsive controls. easy to switch which way your'e rolling or pitching. stop pitching faster. start and stop rolling faster. that plus stability is how you win this
@PlanesOfOld yea but when it comes to indie air race. Its not about your top speed. or engine power or having insane every thing. its about having the perfect balance that lets the AI fly the course. which this vehicle does good. I will have to update and fine tune it now that we're having a tournament but its pretty damn good as it is.
@PlanesOfOld its been months since I used it. Like I said I built it when indie air race came out. I just remember the 41 second finish time because I kept that in the description XD
@mikoyanster damn that's good.
@BlueBurger14 no matter where you are its mailed yes.
@marcox43 Depends. are you sick of building it? if not then continue.
@CALVIN232 any graphical settings do not matter. just that one.
Regaurdless. I have tested this thing. it does not turn any where near good enough. I don't know what you're talking about.
@CALVIN232 is physics simulation set to hihg for you? if not then set it to that and try again. as that is what the tournament will run on
@marcox43 that is a risk too yea...
By the way an any one tell me how to disable collisions on my plane? I just don't want to lose to mid air collisions... AGAIN
@marcox43 it didn't have pitch problems in the first place. it had roll accuracy and speed problems.
@CALVIN232 and the AI can not finish the course. it is going to crash. and miss 90% of the rings.
@CALVIN232 yes. but the AI is what flies it.
sooo changes are?
build to what the AI likes to fly. and you will succeed
@CALVIN232 have you even tested it on the course? it missed all but 2 of the 14 rings it went through before it crashed.
@marcox43 because you're
A: going too fast
B: not compensating enough for that speed.
if you want to go thsi fast you need a roll rate that is both insanely fast and insanely responsive.
how do you expect to go any where in the tournament when this thing can't even turn? that wing load is way to high.
@marcox43 it is the same 600mph as it was before. way to fast. it is very unstable you have a twerking plane in the AI hands. it tends to nose down and crash when trying to turn for some reason. just plent yof problems.
@marcox43 what I can say from a few test runs is it is still too fast. the AI can not react in time to this stuff.
@marcox43 so... what exactly did you change from the last versoin? it looks almost the exact same.
ok so I just gave this a test. and the problem you're facing is. its too fast. the AI can not correct the roll fast enough to match how fast you're going through this course.
@marcox43 can i see your plane then?
@AviownCorp its an action group that is on by default normal. usually would not be a problem. but what that means is some one can build a giant shrapnel bomb out of parts and launch and kill their opponent as soon as a round starts if they wanted too if it was on by defualt. or they could do some cheap out tactics such as launch their plane to full speed from the ground instantly with them. lots of crazy stuff.
@mikoyanster it is and isn't. its simply a battle between speed and how fast the AI can react with your craft.
@marcox43 exactly my point. i'm probably just going to stick to my 40 second very reliable build.
@mikoyanster the key to victory is very fast and responsive control surfaces. the faster you can start a full pitch and roll the better. and the faster that roll/pitch rate is. the better.
@mikoyanster none reliably. every thing under 40 seconds i've heard is either very unreliable. or its skipping rings so it can not get that time.
@legiondesigns i can spell just fine m8
@Stingray what are you talking about? you have to find it. its on the car based island behind wright air port. you should see a ton of pylons sticking up out of the place. which marks the course.
@LiamW try flying it :3
@Tully2001 I wouldn't be so sure. every time any where under 40 seconds has had major reliability problems and ring skipping. (meaning it wouldn't count as 30 seconds XD)
@legiondesigns there are certain things that are so blatantly obvious. that it is the appropriate responce.
@legiondesigns did you even look at the time left on the actual link you need to click to get here?
@bspboy this is a race track that you actually don't want to go as fast as possible on is what.
@bspboy here's your problem. you're making your drag points too low. plus you're likly using 6 propellers right?
@bspboy I"m at 40 very reliable.
@MRstadlles handles mine just fine. you must be building wrong.
@Insertname those are simply not allowed. the only XML modding allowed. is things like. color. rotation. (NOT SIZE)
@PlanesOfOld honestly in this race. the atributes you want to go for. are very responsive controls. easy to switch which way your'e rolling or pitching. stop pitching faster. start and stop rolling faster. that plus stability is how you win this
@InterStellarENT until the submission period ends
@PlanesOfOld yea but when it comes to indie air race. Its not about your top speed. or engine power or having insane every thing. its about having the perfect balance that lets the AI fly the course. which this vehicle does good. I will have to update and fine tune it now that we're having a tournament but its pretty damn good as it is.
@Athaya part scaling is not allowed. part rotation is. also. why don't you look at the tournament guide to see the full rules list?
@Sunnyskies it turns too good then :P (also you really had me scared there. I thought you actually had a 30 second finish XD)
@iiRazor on that island with all the roads and race tracks behidn wright air port.
@PlanesOfOld its been months since I used it. Like I said I built it when indie air race came out. I just remember the 41 second finish time because I kept that in the description XD
@SkullsAndCrossbones wing load. the lower the better.
