F-14 is a two-seat supersonic carrier-based multi-purpose heavy fighter developed by Northrop Grumman Company for the US Navy. Its main mission is escort, fleet air defense, interruption and close air support, which is used to replace the F-4 fighter of the US Navy. The aircraft was developed at the end of 1967, and the prototype made its first flight on December 21, 1970, and was delivered in May 1972. Between 1969 and 1992, Grumman produced 710 F-14s, and the last F-14D was delivered on July 20, 1992.
The aircraft adopts the aerodynamic layout of double-engine and double-vertical tail variable swept wing proposed by NASA in the late 1960s. The swept angle of the wing can be automatically adjusted in the range of 20-68, which has good low-speed and high-speed performance. The all-metal semi-hard shell fuselage adopts advanced structural form, widely adopts titanium alloy and partially adopts composite materials.
