Yeah, it is very tricky to start out, but keep it at 18% and it will start to become more stable with speed. Just keep the pitching up inputs smooth and stay as close to ground as feels comfortable. Fun moves to do if you get bored is try pulling a backflip/frontflip with a little pitching and VTOL up/down. Thanks for trying it out!
Thanks friend, glad you like what comes out of my obsession to build the planes I love, and i try my best to do them justice. I feel the scale is a bit confusing to get just right for me. I try to base it off the cockpit size, so i guess i have set my own scale with my planes. Thanks for the comments, its nice to communicate with like minded folks.
Thanks rocket, just had to take a stab at it sncenive been flying it alot in IL-2 Sturmovik, such a great plane. The wings i had to settle on because the dihedral on smaller sections is far greater than on larger ones. I feel like your wings were perfect shape, just no dihedral so you could achieve a better look. I just like the agressive bent up wings of most dogfighting planes.
I would drop the whole middle upper row to flatten out the profile, and give it at bubble canopy with a backwards cockpit adjoined to the front one. One great resource i use often is www.the-blueprints.com. Just search your craft and im sure there are plenty of blueprints for it. Then compare the wing profiles to get it as close as possible to the original. The wingspan is almost perfect in this build but the length is a little too much. Its hard to get scale just right(most of mine are way off) but you tend to create your own while balancing the look of it. A great start to building and i think it flies great. One improvement would be the pitching, increase the size of the elevators width and depth to improve performance. One thing that doesnt work to scale on actual builds is the flap sizes, you just have to make them work in the game rather than match them to the actual size. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions. Keep up the good work!
VTOLs are great because they generate insane speed when in forward flight. I too have never made a hover jet, the balancing is tough. Im excited to see what you come up with.
I used reducer blocks built off the back of the engine, once i got the pieces centered off the middle i slowly built through it by forcing pieces to lock each other. If pieces are red or invalid you can rotate them or grab the nearest locked block and they will sometimes lock to each other. It was a bitch to figure out but once you get it down it works wonders.
Well its was the best concept on a wasp designed fuselage I have seen on here, and inspired me to improve on it. Wasps are such bad asses in flight that I had to do it justice, but i think VTOLs is the next evolution on this build. A fierce hover/attack build, something to keep in mind if you want to keep going with this build or like the direction it is heading.
You have to stack them just right so they attach to each other with longer pieces butting through. Usually rotating a blocked or invalid piece locks it to the closest valid block. Be creative with how things lock together and always try to achieve something new. I finally made a retractable landing gear housing on the wing which is new on this build. Still refining it but something new always seems to pop up with different builds which is why the building dynamics in this game are fantastic. So many approaches to a very simple set of tools.
Should put a medium graphics warning on it, i had low settings on my iphone and once i loaded the level the wings snapped off. Just a heads up cause some fools dont know low settings make things fall apart. In medium it was great.
Love it man, good job. Especially on the wing profile. Whenever somone asks me to make a spitfire i will just tell them to download this one, because its top notch. 5 from me.
Glad you like it folks. @opertationdesertstorm, the only strategy I have is make it look identical to the real thing. The-Blueprints.com is a great resource. Usually the birds fly great if they look like the real thing.
Thanks for the feedback Ambarveis. I never uploaded the nerfed version because its balance was all off once i dropped the two inner medium jets. Im reworking a version with small jets and the wings that stay on with detachers which give a more accurate wing profile. Thanks for the heads up on the scale also, im going to add a few feet to the front and widen the wings. Its also has a 53 foot wingspan which i didnt get close to. When replicating the planes I never know what the dimensions are. It would be nice to see stats like like power ratio and width/length as you build.
I have a P-51D in development that has a better wing structure, but this bird would lose the cool stripes on the wings. Might have to release a mk. II of this if you guys want it.
Try changing the airfoils on both main wings. Switch the inner two sections to symmetric and the outer two to semi. That should smooth it out a bit. Sorry about that.
awesome man, this game is great isnt it. Fun how you can make something identical to the original. Ive fallen in love with this bird now, and didn't know much about it due to its bigger brother the BF-109 taking the spotlight. I love old WWII planes, they are like the muscle cars of Airplanes, so sexy and bad ass. Ive got my eyes on the Spitfire now. I recommend if you can spending the money on the PC or mac version. In high graphics the planes handle a lot different and better. Its crazy the difference between my iPhone and PC, and I use a joystick on the PC and its like Gold with these birds.
Glad you like it man, that's all that matters to me. The first one I posted looked ok but handled like junk, so i actually watched videos on it to get the handling just right. Let me know what you think about the flying characteristics. Also your English is fine, and so is your taste ;), such an awesome warbird!!!
ok, I redesigned the ailerons and made the profile slimmer. I jumped the gun on the the first build without testing it properly. Download the successor and all will be well in the world :)>
Not sure how this is my A-10, but I like it!
I dig it. I like that someone actually used my stuff to make it better, Not just a plain rip off. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the awesome game!
It does come in black!!!! Sweet
nice gesture, and great looking plane.
Sure thing, I will try my best Hunter77. Thanks for the ratings.

Looks great man, Flies great too.
Now this flies like and looks like a 5, good work sir. Glad my words were not wasted on blank screens.
O_o...........wow. 5 stars for the sheer beauty of this thing. "Does it come in black?"-Bruce Wayne.

This thing just floats along, fun little plane to fly. Just like an awesome looking glider.
I havent even tried it on my iphone, built and tested on my pc. Probably is choppy cause the size, thanks for the review man.
The dude abides :)
Thanks amigo, glad you like it.
You know you can change it anytime you want?

Check back tomorrow, i have a P-47D that im going to post. I can make a B varaint if you want.
Thanks Cj for trying it out, glad you enjoyed it.
Cheers mate!
If you post it saying i edited it then that would make me feel better about it. All i did was fine tune your design.

So awesome, game changer for sure. Way to think outside the box. 5 from me for the the idea.
It looks like if you move all the engines back one space it puts the balance better in the middle.
It looks damn sexy man, good job. Best looking one Ive seen on this game so far. 5 from me
Rotate the part while its red, usually it snaps to the piece closest. You will see it mold to the piece. persistence and creativity is the key.

Lol, yeah, some builds are on the excessive side with the details and scale. The more I can pack in a tiny package the better.
Any suggestions on some realistic touches?
Thanks buddy!
Thanks!
Did that work better for you? i left you a comment on your wasp v2 plane btw. I wish this site had notifications.
How so?
A star for effort.

yeah this one handles like garbage, i was too excited to post it i didnt really test it enough. Rate it like it is, I gave it a 1

never mind, looks good man. At first look it seemed you just ripped the nose off on my bird, but it looks legit in the download.
That nose looks very familiar........
