Funky Trees system in general.
Dear Jundroo, when you wrote the code for Simpleplanes, did the IDE window look like this?
Or this?
You had a beautiful and functional editor, why can't we?
And I think you used variables to store values, rather than recounting them every time you needed to access them. We also need variables!
We need loops, variables and functions!
Check out other sandbox games: Space Engineers,
From The Depth
and many others.
These games have support for scripting languages.
We also want to write scripts!
New functions.
In your game, we can lock other planes and even see a lead point for firing at them in real time.
This means that the game already knows how to access data about another aircraft — getting its coordinates, which means you don’t need to reinvent the wheel — you just need to give us access to the functions that get data about the aircraft that is in lock, and, for example, about the nearest plane to the player. We know they are in the game. We saw.
Guns input using Funky Trees.
Why not give us players the opportunity to shoot not at the touch of a button, but at the behest of the script? For example, for a weapon to create a beautiful smoke above the wings at high angles of attack?
Or that when capturing a target and hovering a weapon on it, it would automatically open fire? Or to create fully automatic turrets like the Mk15 Phalanx?
Maybe to create your own multi-tasking missiles?
Look at the beauty and evil composure of these machines. You also want to see this in your game?
Or maybe it will come in handy for a peaceful civilian autopilot, which will carry passengers from Maywar to Avalanche Airport?
Give us a tool - we will do it. We promise. You already know how many talented designers and physicists are among us. But among us there are no less talented programmers and mathematicians who can make a lot of things possible. The imagination of the community you created is limitless. You know this:
Like this rocket
Or this F-35B
Or this F-16
Our options are limited. Give us more options.
Sincerely yours, the Russian community of Simpleplanes.
P.S.
You know what I think. I think that a very nice looking tank tracks I hope they i add tracks to the game oh and also the smoke on wings when having high angle of attack
@RedVine Оккей
@IngenerMakogon2007, за расу не скажу, тестов не проводил, но живу на территории СНГ.
@RedVine
О, так ты славянин?
We dont need improvements, we need more Funky Trees acessibility. Say, we get either an ingame tutorial, block based programing for newbies (or people who understand jackall like me) or just a simplification of the system like the programing we see in Main Assembly. Id say, make it more accessble first, then add new stuff.
You know how much fun we could be having if glass or tank tracks existed in SP
The P.s is quite funny to see though
@RedVine
.
I think there's a limit to how far FT can go. Remember, SP wasn't built with ingame scripting support in mind. These other examples were... an IDE seems difficult to implement as well. For full on programming capability, I'm getting hopes up for SP2... You probably know how hard it is to modify and add than it is to write anew.
The variables thing sounds very much like SR2’s vizzy, which unfortunately they said probably wouldn’t be coming to SP.
ayyyy, Space Engineer here too
@asteroidbook345 oh, you're talking about Funky Trees? It's neither C# or Python. It's just some real-time calculator.
@asteroidbook345 it's C#, not Python.
@SnoWFLakE0s what do you think?
@asteroidbook345 which interface?
@RussianAS боже Эндрю добавь гусеницы
Эндрю, добавь танковые гусеницы!
Вместе с этим плакал весь SimplePlanes
