I know I'm old and y'all gonna call me a boomer and this is just a game for fun and yadda yadda yadda. But seriously, back in the day we used to thank every single user for their upvotes. Now when I spotlight aircraft
NOT A SINGLE WORD OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT IS EVER WRITTEN
I'm 10k points away from platinum and even now when I get spotlighted I go to the moon and back. When you get spotlighted it means the person wants the community to see more of your work, not thanking them is like saying it makes no difference to you.
@EternalDarkness maybe I'm just nostalgic and miss players like @phanps and @hypnotoad, they used to support me a lot before they disappeared, even when I built planes I consider crappy
@RAF1 a simple "thank you" is basic manners
You don’t deserve a standing ovation for clicking the spotlight button. It doesn’t exactly make you a beacon of hope for humanity. So suck it up.
@SemedianIndustries some people just don't care about it I guess... :\
@Freerider2142 yes, but it got to the point where I upvote, comment AND spotlight, and
no response
...A lot of players (including myself) used to thank every upvote..
Untill people asked me to stop, for some it's annoying to have a notification just for a thank you, some just don't understand why a thank you is needed, some don't like to fill the comments with "thank you" and the "Np" reply...
I don't wright thank you for Upvotes anymore because of that...
I wright thank you to players who upvote and write something in the Comments for a build, and I never got a bad response for that.
And I still Thank every spotlight, just because I think Spotlighting something is a good way of saying "I think this is a Very Good build", so I thank them for liking it..
Mine went out the window
I usually reply to those who commented on my build since thanking every single person makes the comment section cluttered
Also all the manners are gone, reduced to atoms
i mean upvotes mean about nothing in the grand scheme of things so why bother
@IStoleYourMeme seems rather ungrateful to avoid people who thank you even if it is spammy and annoying
I reply to comments and thank people for spotlights. Thanking upvotes gets a bit spammy
thanking everyone who upvotes your build is spammy and annoying and personally i go out of my way to avoid upvoting people who do that, even if their build is epic and deserves an upvote otherwise. you clog your own comment section and the notifications of others just to thank them for the simple task of clicking a button. woopee.
I always found it annoying when people thanked me for stuff. plus it clogs up the comments.
I usually thank who ever upvotes my builds for the first 5 or so hours after I upload a build, then after that I tend to think it gets a bit spamy to keep going “thanks! @ who ever” over and over again
@RailfanEthan indeed XD
i thank people on recent uploads still, i always have. stuff from months ago...
.
how do you people keep finding my random creations that i forgot existed
@asteroidbook345 nah, I overthink, I must thank each and every single one of them
@EternalDarkness indeed, I too try to thank and reply to every comment I get
I agree about spotlights. Especially when you're as far up the users list as I am, those appear once in a blue moon. But upvotes are too common, and are often given without even downloading the build. I don't value them too much. Best thing are honest comments, the ones that actually express an opinion other than "nice".
@EternalDarkness getting upvotes makes me happy, so a "thank you" is to let them now that they've made me happy, I guess. Idk I'm cheesy
Why would anyone tank anyone for upvotes? You give an upvote as a "thank you" for a nice build you get to play with. "Thank you for liking the thing I've made" sounds a bit ridiculous, doesn't it?
