Mechs/Robots/Walking Machines in Roleplays, and how they would not work in rps

15.7k BuiltBionixInd10  4.6 years ago

Hello there

I know what you're gonna say that walking machines don't work, but in the perspective of the simpleplanes universe, it's a different perspective to this very game.

.

How do they work?

There are things thats how these walking robots are able to walk with a supported gyroscope from 1.6 they're able walk without any problems nowadays
.
Well there are different methods of walking:

1.

Mech Walker by Aginuzo
.
Clockwise Walking: Using the Pitch+Roll inputs As a result it will move on one foot or another (unless how many legs there are).

2.

Piston Cycled Based Walkers:

Bipedal Walking Mech By Supermini555
.
Using Activations Groups like 1 and 2 and it will move automatically.
.

3.

Funky Trees:

suzu by nagisa
.
Using complex XML modding skill and algebra You can choose what input it could be for that being (Pitch,Throttle,VTOL,)
The most complex walking build as of 2020.
.
Mechs/Robots/Walking machines/robots in Roleplays?
My conclusion to them in RPs that they would not make sense as if they weren't realistic as possible due to the weight of the robots
Have
We can all say that they are:
Less likely Impossible
.

Method 2 is an outstanding mech made in real life. It is very simple and looks like the AMP suit from avatar. It has been 4 years now so the company might have improved it a lot check it out

In the SPRP universe I can only see mechs being used as a sort of rear line (e.g Used for carrying aircraft munitions, used to build infrastructures, or maybe even used for repairs in large aircraft where a average human being can’t reach.) type of thing instead of being used in the frontlines. If there are to be mechs in the frontlines, I believe they would be used for Surface to Air support or Artillery support.

maybe in the SP tech they are somewhat inviable due to complexity, but in real life, we already have working mechs made by small companies, just give those guys some more R&D and they will have a fully working mech suit. also there's a full scale Gundam that can mmove in japan.

Standoff weapons are the future but they're not cool
    .
Overall high mass of mechs means they are slow, plus they are easier to take down than tanks/planes. But they are adaptable as a jack of all trades
Uses in RP or alternate timelines requires the timeline to be about mechs or have good tech, or in the kinda far future

I have a walking system that uses throttle to move, no funky trees. I think it could be the future of mechs if everyone used it, and improved it.
